Bangladesh continues to mount pressure on Pakistan bowlers on Day 3 of the series-deciding second Test in Sylhet. Emboldened with a 46-run lead at the halfway stage of the match, the hosts stretched that lead past 350 runs courtesy of a blistering half-century from Litton Das and a majestic ton from senior pro Mushfiqur Rahim.
Rahim notched up the 14th hundred of his career in the process, thus becoming Bangladesh’s leading century-maker in the format. The legendary wicketkeeper-batter also crossed paths with Pakistan captain Shan Masood, at least verbally, just before the Tea break on Day 3.
The incident livened up the Sylhet International Stadium crowd as the series-decider heads towards an exciting finish.
Shan Masood and Mushfiqur Rahim liven up Sylhet crowd
Before the start of the 79th over of the second Bangladesh innings on Day 3 of the second Test in Sylhet, Pakistan captain Shan Masood was spotted having a chat with the umpires and with his colleagues.
Bangladesh’s well-set batter at the time, Mushfiqur Rahim subsequently asked the visiting skipper to “get on with the game”, as per their conversation captured on the stump mic.
Rahim’s remarks seemingly irked Shan Masood, who engaged in an intense argument with the legendary Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter. Their heated interaction also livened up the Sylhet crowd in the middle of a day.
