Rajasthan Royals continue to stumble where it matters the most this IPL 2026 season. Towards the fag end of the league stage, the franchise just slipped to its third successive defeat, this time against a struggling Delhi Capitals unit in match number 62 of the tournament.
The latest outcome has now put the Royals to a stage where they can hardly afford any further hiccup in their remaining two games of the season. With a spot in the playoffs hanging in the balance, here is a look at Rajasthan Royals’ entire scenario for making it among the top four sides of the season by the end of the league stage.
How can Rajasthan Royals qualify for IPL 2026 playoffs?
The Rajasthan Royals franchise, under the leadership of Riyan Parag, started off the IPL 2026 season by storming to eight points in their first four games. However, since then, the franchise has secured just two additional wins from their subsequent eight appearances to fall out of the playoffs reckoning.
With six wins and six defeats from 12 matches, Rajasthan Royals is currently holding 12 points with an NRR of 0.027. They are ranked sixth on the IPL 2026 points table as of now, joining CSK and Delhi Capitals in a mid-table traffic.

Riyan Parag and co. now need to win each of their remaining two matches to get to a maximum of 16 points. Ideally, 16 points have proven to be enough for a playoff qualification in any scenario, especially ever since the IPL became a 74-match event in 2022.
With RCB officially qualifying for the playoffs, and Gujarat Titans nearly getting there, teams like SRH, Punjab Kings and CSK remain Royals’ biggest rivals at the moment.
If the Rajasthan Royals wins one and loses the other, they will get to 14 points and will hope for a slew of exterior results to go their way. For instance, fans of the franchise will need to hope that SRH and Punjab Kings both lose their remaining games to remain stuck at 14 and 13 points respectively.
Moreover, CSK will also need to lose either both or one of their two matches. In such a scenario, Rajasthan Royals might pip SRH or CSK on the basis of NRR, and go past Punjab Kings by a point.
What are Rajasthan Royals’ remaining games of IPL 2026?
As per the IPL 2026 schedule, the Rajasthan Royals franchise still has two matches remaining this season. The team will now travel back home in Jaipur, before taking flight for an away game in Mumbai. Here is a look at the remaining schedule for the Rajasthan Royals this tournament.
