In an embarrassing moment, the Gujarat Titans’ director of cricket took a sharp dig at commentator Harsha Bhogle for asking personal questions. This happened during the IPL 2026 encounter between GT and LSG.
Gujarat Titans, former IPL champions, invited LSG to bat first on the Ekana surface and restricted them to 164/8. However, on the sidelines, an awkward moment caught the fans’ attention.
Harsha Bhogle embarrassed on live TV for commentary standards
During the game, commentator Harsha Bhogle was interviewing Gujarat Titans’ director of cricket, Vikram Solanki. However, Bhogle shot a personal question at Solanki, asking him about his age.
"Someone just told me you celebrated your 50th the other day. That's not true, isn't it? You look trim and young," Bhogle said.
The remark was meant to convey that Solanki looked young for someone who turned 50 earlier this month. However, the GT director took it personally. He clapped back at Bhogle, saying the commentator should stick to having cricket related discussions.
"I'll tell you what Harsha. You're having a couple of opportunities to make sure you're raising a couple of points on my behalf. How about we stick to the cricket and talk about the guys that are out there," Solanki said.
Harsha Bhogle was clearly embarrassed but chose not to react and laughed it off to handle it gracefully. However, the clip went viral on social media.
Fans slammed Bhogle for poor commentary standards and praised Vikram Solanki for taking a stand against it.

Who is Vikram Solanki?
Vikram Solanki is a former England cricketer and current cricket administrator. Born on April 1 in Rajasthan, Solanki moved to England at a young age and grew up in Wolverhampton.
A right-handed batter and occasional off-spinner, he represented England in 51 ODIs and a handful of T20Is between 2000 and 2007.
Although he never played Test cricket, Solanki had a highly successful domestic career. He spent 17 years with Worcestershire, scoring over 10,000 runs for the county and even captaining the side from 2005 to 2010. He later played for Surrey before retiring in 2015.
After retirement, Solanki transitioned into coaching and administration. He worked with Surrey as head coach and is currently the director of cricket for the Gujarat Titans in the IPL.
Gujarat Titans in control of the chase
Meanwhile, the Gujarat Titans are well on track in their chase of 165 against LSG, reaching 56/1 in 6.1 overs at the Ekana Stadium.
Skipper Shubman Gill has led from the front with 31 off 18 balls, while Jos Buttler has provided early acceleration with 10 off 5 balls.

The only setback came in the form of Sai Sudharsan, who was dismissed for 15 after a steady start. GT made the most of the powerplay, scoring 52 runs in the first six overs.
With 109 runs needed off 83 balls, the chase is nicely poised, but the Gujarat Titans hold the upper hand given their strong batting depth.
