Lungi Ngidi suffers nasty head injury, now ‘stable’
Lungi Ngidi suffered a nasty head injury while fielding for the Delhi Capitals against Punjab Kings in match number 35 of the IPL 2026 season. The speedster suffered the injury while misjudging his fielding attempt early in the Punjab Kings chase.
Bringing the game to a standstill for an extensive period, the South African pacer was subsequently escorted off the field in an ambulance. An IPL update has since confirmed that Ngidi is “stable” and will be discharged from the hospital.
KL Rahul’s record knock in vain in Punjab Kings historic chase
Delhi Capitals opener KL Rahul plundered 152* off just 67 balls in Delhi against Punjab Kings. The innings marked his sixth IPL century, and one of the highest individual scores ever recorded in the history of the tournament.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi blasts third fastest IPL century
Rajasthan Royals opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi blasted 103 runs off just 37 balls with five fours and 12 sixes against the SRH in match number 36 of the IPL 2026 season. Racing to his century from just 36 deliveries, the youngster smashed the third fastest century in the history of the tournament, falling short of his own record (35 balls) by a ball, and Chris Gayle’s all-time record by six balls.
CSK coach implies Urvil Patel will fill in for injured Ayush Mhatre
CSK head coach Stephen Fleming has implied that the franchise is intending to use Urvil Patel as a replacement for injured Ayush Mhatre for the ongoing IPL 2026 season. While Mhatre suffered a hamstring injury against the SRH earlier this month, the franchise has since named Akash Madhwal as his “official replacement”.
However, since Madhwal is a fast bowler, the CSK franchise is not rushing to name Mhatre’s like-for-like replacement as Urvil Patel is already waiting in the wings.

The BCB has named a 15-player Bangladesh Women’s squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. Nigar Sultana will continue to lead the team, after losing the ODIs against the same opponents earlier this month.
The board called up uncapped star Sarmin Sultana for the T20Is, set to be played between April 27 and May 2 next week.
