Led by Babar Azam, Peshawar Zalmi are on a roll in the ongoing edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), sitting at the top of the points table. With the likes of Nahid Rana, Shoriful Islam and Tanzid Hasan Tamim from Bangladesh, they are the only undefeated side in PSL 2026.

As many as six Bangladesh players were picked during the PSL 2026 auction, which included Parvez Hossain Emon, Mustafizur Rahman and Rishad Hossain. While Parvez and Mustafizur play for the Shaheen Afridi-led Lahore Qalandars, Rishad represents the newly introduced PSL franchise, RawalPINDIZ.

Tanzid Hasan Tamim Returns To Bangladesh Amid PSL

Meanwhile, Bangladesh players have started returning home in the middle of the PSL 2026 to prepare themselves for the upcoming limited-overs series against New Zealand.

Bangladesh will play three ODIs against New Zealand from April 17, with the squad already announced. After that, the T20Is will get underway on April 27 onwards.

From Peshawar Zalmi's squad, Tanzid Hasan Tamim is already at home, with Nahid Rana and Shoriful Islam set to follow him.

In a video shared across Peshawar Zalmi's social media handles, Tanzid opened up about his experience in the PSL, despite not getting a single game for Peshawar Zalmi.

“It was an honour for me to be part of the Zalmi family. It’s been a great journey. The teammates were amazing, and everyone really enjoyed it here. Even though I didn’t get to play a match, I learned a lot. I hope these things will help me in my career," Tanzid Hasan Tanzid said in the video.

"Best wishes to everyone. We will play the final on May 3 and hopefully win the trophy. Keep supporting Zalmi, we will keep getting better day by day," Tanzid added.

For Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Who In Playing In Babar Azam's Peshawar Zalmi?

Tanzid Hasan Tamim opens for Bangladesh and other domestic franchises. So far, he has played 103 T20s, averaging 29.59 for 2782 runs in the format.

Looking at the stats, Tanzid, who registered himself for PSL 2026 with a base price of PKR 11 million at the auction, caught the attention of Babar Azam’s Peshawar Zalmi.

Meanwhile, Babar Azam has been coming to open for Peshawar Zalmi. With him, Mohammad Haris, another from Pakistan, is joining him. With Kusal Mendis batting incredibly well in PSL 2026 at No. 3, Babar could not get an opportunity to give Tanzid a go by tweaking anyone’s batting position.

To make matters worse for Tanzid, James Vince, another option who has an experience as well as can open the innings, has joined Peshawar Zalmi squad as well for PSL 2026.

Under Babar Azam, Peshawar have played five matches and won four in PSL 2026. The other fixture, which was supposed to be against Shadab Khan’s Islamabad United, was abandoned due to relentless rain at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

They will next face the second-ranked Multan Sultans in a battle of the PSL table-toppers later tonight.
