Taskin Ahmed’s LPL 2026 stint delayed for Jaffna Kings

Taskin Ahmed is set to miss the early phase of the LPL 2026 season in Sri Lanka this month. The Bangladesh fast bowler has been called up by the BCB to replace fellow paceman Mustafizur Rahman in their upcoming three-match T20I series in Zimbabwe.

The series will hamper Taskin’s early availability for the LPL 2026, where he is slated to turn up for the Jaffna Kings franchise. 

Smriti Mandhana completes 300 international matches for India Women

Indian opening batter Smriti Mandhana played her ninth Test match through the course of India’s one-off affair against England. 

The occasion also marked the 300th international match for Mandhana to scale a huge landmark figure for India after Harmanpreet Kaur and Mithali Raj. 

The prolific opener celebrated the historic moment by punching out an elegant 83 off 108 balls against England Women on Day 1 of the match.

ECB to impose stricter guidelines on England players

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is set to impose stricter guidelines on England players in the wake of the nightclub controversy involving Ben Stokes and Gus Atkinson in London last month. 

As per the restrictions, England players will not be allowed to drink alcohol even a day after a Test match. Moreover, players will also be required to inform the team management and security before leaving the team hotel at any point after 10 pm. 

BCCI to conduct India team review with Gautam Gambhir

The BCCI is set to organise a review meeting for the Indian cricket team, especially after their successive T20I series defeats in Ireland and England. Under the leadership of new captain Shreyas Iyer, the ‘Men in Blue’ have suffered five straight defeats across both countries.

As stated by BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, the “meeting will be strictly about the performance of the team and how course correction can be done with regards to shortfalls. Nothing else will be discussed.”

Mohammad Amir joins Trent Rockets for Hundred 2026

Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has been roped in by the Trent Rockets franchise for the upcoming The Hundred 2026 season in England. 

The speedster is expected to join the squad within a few days, considering the upcoming edition of The Hundred is slated to commence from July 21 onwards. Amir will be replacing David Payne, who has been ruled out of the tournament.
