In a major development, the rumours surrounding a blockbuster trade involving Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav have finally come to an end, as the IPL officially confirmed the trade between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants on June 23.
Notably, the trade sees Pant’s IPL salary significantly reduced from his previous ₹27 crore to ₹15 crore as he rejoins Delhi Capitals. Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav will continue with LSG at his existing salary of ₹13.50 crore.
A month earlier, Rishabh Pant had requested to step down as captain, and LSG accepted his decision following a forgettable season in which the franchise finished at the bottom of the 10-team competition, managing just four wins in 14 matches.

Talking about the hefty amount he received, Rishabh Pant, who holds the record as the most expensive player in IPL history, made headlines after being released by Delhi Capitals ahead of IPL 2025.
The wicketkeeper-batter attracted bids from Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Delhi Capitals before LSG eventually secured his services for a mammoth ₹27 crore. He was subsequently appointed captain of the franchise.
Following IPL 2026, the wicketkeeper-batter received another ₹27 crore paycheck as LSG continued to show faith in him.
Combining both seasons with LSG, Pant played 28 matches for the franchise and earned match fees of ₹7.5 lakh per game in addition to his ₹27 crore annual contract.
In total, he earned approximately ₹55.88 crore during his two-year stint with the franchise, excluding taxes and any fines.

How Did Rishabh Pant Perform For LSG?
The two seasons Rishabh Pant spent with LSG did not go as planned from either a personal or team perspective.
In IPL 2025, Pant scored 269 runs in 13 innings at a strike rate of 133.17. While he showed glimpses of his ability, the returns were below his usual standards.
As captain, he led LSG to a seventh-place finish, with the team registering six wins in 14 matches.
The following season proved even more disappointing for the franchise, as LSG finished at the bottom of the table for the first time in their history.
On an individual level, however, Pant showed some improvement. Batting at four different positions during the season, he scored 312 runs in 13 innings at a strike rate of 138.05.
His half-century against SRH was his only fifty-plus score of the season.
Across both seasons, Pant scored 581 runs in 28 matches at an average of 26.41 and a strike rate of 135.74. His tally included two fifties and one century.
Rishabh Pant’s Cost Per Run in entire LSG career
Coming to the main question, how much did each run scored by Rishabh Pant cost LSG during his stint with the franchise?
Considering his combined earnings of approximately ₹55.88 crore across two seasons and his total of 581 runs, Pant effectively earned around ₹9.62 lakh per run scored for LSG.
Meanwhile, with the trade now completed, Pant returns to the franchise where he spent nine seasons between 2016 and 2024. During that period, he made 111 appearances, the most by any player for Delhi Capitals.
One of the defining faces of the franchise for nearly a decade, Rishabh Pant also captained Delhi Capitals in 43 matches across four seasons between 2021 and 2024.
