Three Bangladesh pace sensations – Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed – on Wednesday moved up in the latest ICC rankings. The development happened after their recent heroics in the Bangladesh vs Australia ODIs.
Shoriful jumped 10 places in the ICC ODI bowling rankings, as he reached to 18th spot from 28th. Mustafizur, on the other hand, went to 25th place, reaching 12th places higher. Taskin, meanwhile, got to 27th from 32nd.
Bangladesh Bowlers Shone Brightly In ODIs Vs Australia
There were three ODIs between Australia and Bangladesh, and Shoriful played only one match. There, he picked up six wickets for 48 runs, helping him get rewards in the latest ICC rankings.
Mustafizur, meanwhile, had claimed six wickets in three matches, ending the series with joint-highest wicket-taker, alongside Shoriful.
Taskin Ahmed took five wickets in three matches, although he had the poorer average (24) among the three players.

In other developments, Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz remained eighth in ICC ODI bowling rankings, having got 604 rating points. Rashid Khan, who is currently playing India vs Afghanistan ODI in Lucknow, sits at the top of the chart.
Rashid is followed by Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed, England’s Jofra Archer and South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj.
What Happened In Bangladesh vs Australia ODIs?
The first ODI between Bangladesh and Australia took place in Dhaka. There, Bangladesh posted 284/8 batting first. In reply, Australia could only manage 191/9 in 42.2 overs in a game which they lost by 86 via DLS method.
In the second ODI, there was another rain-curtailed match. Bangladesh, this time, restricted Australia to 187/8 in 42 overs. In response, Bangladesh were 195/5 in 35 overs in a revised target, winning it by five wickets.
The third ODI between Australia and Bangladesh was a nail-biter. Batting first, Bangladesh posted 274/5 in 50 overs. Thankfully, it was a full 50-over match without any rain’s impact.
Australia, in reply, rode on Cooper Connolly’s 134-ball 149 to eventually reached the target with just one wicket and three balls to spare.
Bangladesh Folded For 131 Vs Australia In 1st T20I
Bangladesh failed to carry on the momentum from the ODIs to the T20Is. In the absence of Litton Das, Towhid Hridoy came to lead Bangladesh in the first T20I.
The Tigers got off to an excellent start, racing to 26 runs in the first 16 balls without losing any wicket. However, they kept on losing wickets in regular intervals before eventually being folded for 131 in 19 overs.
Australia, in response, are 13/1 in 2.1 overs, with Josh Inglis getting cleaned up by Shoriful Islam for a run-a-ball 5.
Captain Mitchell Marsh and Cooper Connolly are currently in the middle, batting on 7* and 0* respectively, as Bangladesh would like to stage a fightback in order to put Australia in trouble.
