Bangladesh handed a massive blow just before the start of the first T20I against Australia, which took place in Chattogram on Wednesday afternoon.
Litton Das, Bangladesh’s T20I captain, was not allowed to play the first T20I. In his place, Towhid Hridoy came as a stand-in captain for Bangladesh. He came for the toss, wearing the captain’s hat for the first time for the country.
BCB Issues Official Statement On Litton Das Injury
No wonder Litton Das injury rocked Bangladesh, who just had a historic ODI series win against Australia a few days ago. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had no choice but to issue an official update on Litton Das.
"Following a medical assessment, the player has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 strain of the left calf muscle. The injury is considered minor, and he is progressing well in his recovery. He will be unavailable for the first match," Bangladesh national team physio Delowar Hossain Shiva said in an official statement.

"However, depending on his response to treatment and rehabilitation, he may be fit for the subsequent matches. We will continue to monitor his progress closely,” he added.
What Happened To Litton Das?
While playing the third ODI between Bangladesh and Australia, Litton Das picked up a muscle tear. As a result, it turned out to be a disaster; however, he could return to the mix for the second and third ODIs against Australia, to be held at the same venue on June 19 and June 21, respectively.
In Litton Das’ absence, Soumya Sarkar and Parvez Hossain Emon have made the cut for Bangladesh's playing XI vs Australia. Meanwhile, Saif Hassan and Tanzid Hasan will open the innings, as Bangladesh had to make moves following Litton Das injury setback.
