Team India made it 8-1 against Pakistan in T20 World Cup matches after thrashing the ‘Men in Green’ by a 61-run margin this year in Colombo. Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan, who vowed to “target” his arch-rival Jasprit Bumrah in the game, was dismissed for a four-ball duck by all-rounder Hardik Pandya in the first over of the innings itself.
Regardless, Farhan has often belittled Bumrah with his remarks, with reports even claiming that the Pakistani opener made a “documentary” where he bragged about hitting sixes off the legendary Indian pacer.
Farhan’s Pakistan teammate Usman Khan, however, offered a far more measured assessment. The attacking wicketkeeper-batter, who top-scored for Pakistan in their T20 World Cup clash against India as opposed to the opener’s duck, lavished a significant praise on Jasprit Bumrah.
Usman Khan says Jasprit Bumrah the “most challenging bowler to face”
While speaking on the Hassan Azam YouTube channel, Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Usman Khan described Jasprit Bumrah the “most challenging bowler to face”. The attacking middle-order batter believes that Bumrah is a master of variations, who can often predict how the batter is planning to hit his deliveries.

Usman Khan said “Bumrah was the most challenging bowler to face. When I looked to play a shot, he bowled a slower one. When I tried to take a single, he bowled a yorker. When I tried to be defensive, he bowled a short one. he is mentally very strong.”
Hasan Nawaz says he “hates” Indian bowlers
Not all Pakistani batters, however, share Usman Khan’s admiration for Bumrah and other Indian bowlers. A few days ago, fellow Pakistan cricketer Hasan Nawaz claimed that he “hates” Indian bowlers and would want to “punish” them out of pure disdain.
While speaking to Qadir Khawaja, Hasan Nawaz said “India ek team hai of course jise hum sochte hai ki aj iss bowler ko maarna hai aur unke har ek bowler se nafrat hai.”
What happened the last time Pakistan faced Jasprit Bumrah?
Jasprit Bumrah has proven to be Pakistan’s primary wrecker-in-chief in recent years, quietly taking over that role from the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Apart from winning the ‘Player of the Match’ awards in India’s commanding wins over Pakistan in the 2023 World Cup and 2024 T20 World Cups, Bumrah also decimated the ‘Men in Green’ in the 2026 T20 World Cup with his sublime new-ball gambit.
After Ishan Kishan whacked 77 off 40 balls to catapult India to 175-7, the Indian fast bowler picked up the important wickets of Saim Ayub and Salman Agha to claim figures of 2-17. Pakistan opener and loudmouth Sahibzada Farhan himself failed to get off the mark as he was dismissed by Bumrah’s teammate Hardik Pandya in the first over of the chase itself.
Interestingly, Usman Khan top-scored in the game for Pakistan by composing 44 off 34 balls with six boundaries and a six. The attacking wicketkeeper-batter also crossed paths with the senior Indian paceman for a couple of deliveries.
Pakistan eventually bundled out for just 114 in 18 overs to fall 61 runs short of their target.
