Bangladesh is playing against Pakistan in the decisive third ODI of their three-match series at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday. The series is currently level at 1-1 after both teams registered dominant victories in the first two matches.

Bangladesh started strongly with an impressive eight-wicket win in the opening ODI. In that match, Nahid Rana delivered a brilliant performance, taking a five-wicket haul to dismiss Pakistan for just 114 runs. Bangladesh comfortably chased down the target to take an early lead in the series.

Pakistan, however, bounced back strongly in the second ODI with a massive 128-run victory to level the series.

Maaz Sadaqat played a key role in the win, scoring a quick 75 runs off just 46 balls to help Pakistan post a total of 274. He also impressed with the ball by taking three wickets as Bangladesh were bowled out for 114.

Shamyl Hussain Ruled Out and Wasim Jr Dropped for PAK vs BAN 3rd ODI

For the series decider, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first. The team management also made three changes to the playing XI. Saad Masood and Ghazi Ghouri have been handed their international debuts, while Abrar Ahmed has also been included in the side.

They replace Shamyl Hussain, Hussain Talat, and Mohammad Wasim Jr in the lineup.

According to Sohail Imran of Geo TV, the Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that Shamyl Hussain is suffering from a neck muscle spasm. Due to this injury, he has been ruled out of the third ODI and is currently receiving treatment from the team's medical staff.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Wasim Jr has been left out of the playing XI as part of the team's tactical decision for the final match of the series.

Why is Hussain Talat not playing in 3rd ODI?

It is important to mention that Hussain Talat has been ruled out of the ongoing ODI series against the Bangladesh after suffering a shoulder injury during the second match on Friday.

The incident took place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka while Hussian Talat was fielding. During a fielding attempt, he landed awkwardly and immediately showed signs of pain in his left shoulder.

Team medical staff rushed onto the field and provided initial treatment before he was taken off for further evaluation.

Later medical reports confirmed that Hussian Talat had suffered a left shoulder joint dislocation. Following an initial rest period, he will report to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Pakistan, where he will begin a phased rehabilitation program under medical supervision.

Medical experts have estimated that his recovery and return to competitive cricket may take around 12 to 14 weeks, so his participation in PSL 2026 is also doubtful.
