Salman Agha in PAK vs BAN (Source:AFP)
The second ODI between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Dhaka turned into a dramatic contest due to a controversial run-out involving Salman Ali Agha.
The incident sparked a heated debate about the ‘spirit of cricket’ and even led to criticism from fans in Salman Agha's own country.
The moment occurred during Pakistan's batting innings in the 39th over. Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz was bowling to Mohammad Rizwan when star batter played a shot back towards the bowler. Mehidy Hasan Miraz tried to stop the ball using his boot, and it deflected slightly in front of him.
What happened between Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Salman Agha?
At the non-striker's end, Salman Agha had moved out of his crease and ended up in the path of the bowler. As the ball trickled to a halt near their feet, Agha bent down to pick it up, seemingly intending to return it to Miraz.
However, in a quick reaction, Bangladesh captain grabbed the ball and underarmed it onto the stumps, catching Salman Agha outside his crease.

The on-field umpire referred the appeal to the TV umpire, who reviewed the footage before declaring Agha run out. The decision immediately triggered tension in the middle.
Agha, who had been batting brilliantly until then, scoring 64 runs off 62 balls, was visibly furious. He threw his gloves and helmet in frustration and appeared to exchange words with Miraz before walking back to the pavilion.
Bangladesh wicketkeeper Litton Das also stepped into the discussion, though Rizwan was seen calming the situation.
The incident quickly went viral on social media, with fans and debating whether the dismissal was within the spirit of the game. While the run-out was legal under the rules, many questioned whether Miraz should have warned Agha instead of dismissing him in that manner.

The unusual moment even caught the attention of the Rawalpindi Traffic Police, who used the viral image from the match to share a public safety message.
It is important to mention that many fans on social media stated that Pakistan police has taken a indirect dig at Agha.
In a post that captured widespread attention online, the police department shared a snapshot from the incident along with a message encouraging people to take responsibility for their own safety.
“Whether it’s on the road or the sports field, to stay safe, trust others less and trust yourself more! Your own responsibility and careful behaviour are the most important."
The message also reminded people that relying completely on others can sometimes be risky. According to the police, making thoughtful decisions, following rules, and staying alert are essential for safety in everyday life.
