After Australia Women’s team secured their seventh T20 World Cup title on July 5, Rajasthan Royals, the Indian Premier League franchise, took an unexpected dig at the Women in Yellow on their official social media handle.
For the unaware, Australia Women bagged the victory at the iconic Lord’s against England Women by a dominant margin, leaving the hosts in agony. Addressing this pain, the Royals shared a brutal yet light-hearted dig at Ellyse Perry & Co.
What Did Rajasthan Royals Demand From Australia?
Taking to their official social media handle at X (formerly Twitter), RR shared a subtle dig with a one-line message for the Australia team, indicating both Men's and Women’s.
“Well played, Australia. Stop going after teams that are unbeaten at home World Cups until the final. It hurts,” the post shared.
The post shared immediately after Australia’s win on July 5 gained 63K views and almost 2.5K likes.

What Did RR Hint At With Social Media Dig For Australia?
While the dig might be confusing for many, Australia has been a menace in terms of winning trophies. The team have bagged 27 ICC titles across men's, women's, and U-19 tournaments, and multiple of them have been at the host’s home ground.
In recent memory, Australia defeated India at their home back in 2023 to lift the ODI World Cup title. In the Women’s edition, they dominated South Africa by 19 runs in the 2023 edition to win the Women’s T20 World Cup at Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town.
The England team’s heartbreak also counts as one as the WOmen’s team dominated them and Rajasthan royals indicated particularly at India’s November 19 heartbreak.

RR asked Australia not to beat the host team at the Final, who remained unbeaten at the group stage. India were the standout team of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, winning all 10 matches on their way to the final.
They defeated Australia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, New Zealand, England, Sri Lanka, South Africa, the Netherlands, and New Zealand again in the semi-final to remain unbeaten throughout the tournament.
However, their dream campaign came to a heartbreaking end in the final, where Australia handed them their first and only defeat to lift the World Cup title.
India were bowled out for 240 in 50 overs after being asked to bat first. Rohit Sharma gave India a flying start with 47 off 31 balls, while Virat Kohli (54) and KL Rahul (66) steadied the innings.
In reply, Australia lost three early wickets, but Travis Head produced a match-winning 137 off 120 balls, sharing a crucial 192-run partnership with Marnus Labuschagne. Australia chased down the target in 43 overs with six wickets in hand, ending India's unbeaten run and winning their ODI World Cup title.

Australia Women continued their winning momentum and bagged a scintillating victory at the Lord’s by defeating the unbeaten side England Women.
England Women also enjoyed a brilliant campaign in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026, winning all six matches before the final. They began with victories over Sri Lanka, Ireland, Scotland, the West Indies, and New Zealand in the group stage.
They defeated South Africa in the semi-final to reach the title clash unbeaten. However, their perfect run came to an end in the final, where Australia Women defeated them to win the trophy.
