BCCI locks in schedule for series vs Afghanistan

The Afghanistan cricket team is scheduled to tour India shortly after the conclusion of the IPL 2026 season. The two sides will be facing each other in one Test and three ODI matches between June 6 and June 20. The lone Test will be hosted by New Chandigarh and the ODIs will be played in Dharamshala, Lucknow and Chennai.

The Test match will mark only the second-ever meeting between India and Afghanistan in red-ball cricket, and their first since Afghanistan’s inaugural Test match back in June 2018 in Bengaluru.

AFG vs SL 2026 likely to get cancelled or shifted: Report

The upcoming white-ball series between Sri Lanka and ‘hosts’ Afghanistan will likely be cancelled or moved out of the UAE. As per recent reports, the series will likely be shifted to Sri Lanka in light of the ongoing Middle East crisis and air travel restriction in the desert country, which has served as Afghanistan’s home ground for the past few years.

As per the original schedule, the two sides are scheduled to face each other in a series of three T20Is and three ODI matches in Sharjah and Dubai between March 13 and March 25.

PCB penalizes Pakistan for T20 World Cup horror: Report

The Mohsin Naqvi-led Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will reportedly be penalising the Pakistan cricket team for their disastrous performance at the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. As reported by a Pakistani journalist, the board has imposed a fine of 5 million rupees for failing to qualify for the semifinals of the tournament.

Under the leadership of captain Salman Agha, the ‘Men in Green’ succumbed to demoralising defeats against India in the Group Stage and against England in the Super 8s. Pakistan also failed to defeat Sri Lanka by a desired margin of 65 runs in Pallekele this past weekend.

Australia name uncapped duo for India Test

Cricket Australia has added uncapped duo to the Australia Women’s squad for the upcoming one-off Test match against the visiting Indian Women’s team. Rachel Trenaman and Maitlan Brown were both added to the injury-hit squad after Kim Garth was ruled out of the all-important match.

Alyssa Healy will continue to lead the side in her final international outing, and she will be accompanied by Ashleigh Gardner, Beth Mooney, Annabel Sutherland among several others. The match will be hosted by the WACA Ground in Perth between March 6 and March 9.
