The PCB has unveiled the entire schedule of the PSL 2026 season. Arshdeep Singh has been penalized by the ICC for his T20 World Cup 2026 final misconduct. In other news, Jacob Bethell has been appointed as new captain of the Birmingham Phoenix team.

Ishan Kishan hits back at Kirti Azad for India’s T20 World Cup 2026 celebration

Indian top-order batter Ishan Kishan has hit back at former cricketer and active politician Kirti Azad for needlessly raking up a controversy shortly after Suryakumar Yadav and co. lifted the 2026 T20 World Cup. Earlier, Kirti had objected to the winning trophy being taken to the Hanuman Temple in Ahmedabad by captain Suryakumar and head coach Gautam Gambhir.

While the cricketer-turned-politician stated that the win belonged to people of all religions in India, Ishan Kishan responded by asking the journalists to raise “better questions” instead of quoting Azad’s controversial remarks.

PSL 2026 schedule unveiled by PCB

The PCB has unveiled the entire schedule of the upcoming PSL 2026 season. As per the official itinerary, the season will launch with a match between Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Kingsmen in Lahore on March 26 later this month.

As many as 44 matches will be played in the tournament, with Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium hosting 15 of them. Rawalpindi will host 11 PSL 2026 games and venues at Faisalabad, Karachi and Multan will host 17 matches combined. The Imran Khan Cricket Stadium will host only one match, that of Peshawar Zalmi and Rawalpindi Pindiz on March 28.

Arshdeep Singh fined by ICC for final misconduct

India fast bowler Arshdeep Singh has been penalised 15% of his match fees by the ICC for a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct. The apex body also handed the speedster one demerit point for breaching Article 2.9, which relates to “throwing a ball” near a player in an inappropriate and/or dangerous manner.

The incident in question relates to Arshdeep aggressively throwing the ball towards New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell in the final of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Ahmedabad earlier this week.

Birmingham Phoenix name Jacob Bethell as new Hundred captain

The Birmingham Phoenix franchise has named England’s rising star Jacob Bethell as the new captain ahead of the upcoming The Hundred 2026 men’s season. The franchise confirmed the same mere days after Bethell whacked a scintillating century against India in the semifinal of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

The 22-year-old has been a part of the Birmingham Phoenix setup since the 2023 edition of the tournament. In his 100-ball career so far, the youngster has scored 298 runs in 18 innings at a strike rate of 133.63, and has also picked up three wickets in the process.

USA-Iran war hits IPL 2026 with LPG shortage

The prevailing USA-Iran war and the resultant Middle East crisis will likely affect the IPL 2026 season in India. Owing to the recent tensions, India is struggling with LPG and gas shortage. The government also released a circular stating that they are ensuring a smooth supply of gas to all the states.

IPL chairman Arun Dhumal also expressed his concerns and stated that the board is currently “reviewing the development” and will be taking a call on IPL 2026 accordingly.
