Smriti Mandhana’s former fiancé Palash Muchhal has recently come into the spotlight, and this time for a serious reason. According to reports, a complaint has been filed against him in Sangli by Mandhana’s childhood friend, Vidnyan Mane.

As a result, the matter has drawn attention not only because of the legal case but also due to Palash Muchhal’s past relationship with the cricketer.

Background Of Smriti Mandhana And Palash Muchhal’s Relationship

To begin with, it is important to understand the background. Palash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana were previously engaged, and notably, they were expected to get married in Sangli in November 2025.

Moreover, preparations for the wedding had already begun, and even pre-wedding functions had taken place. However, things took an unexpected turn on the wedding day itself, as the ceremony was suddenly called off.

Following this, there were many rumors and reports about why the wedding did not happen. Nevertheless, both Palash and Smriti later shared a joint statement on social media.

In that statement, they confirmed that they had decided not to go ahead with the marriage and had chosen to separate. However, the exact reasons behind their breakup were never made public.

Palash Muchhal Complaint: Key Details Explained

Meanwhile, according to a report by TV9 Marathi, a legal case has now been registered against Palash Muchhal. The complaint was filed by Vidnyan Mane, who is not only a resident of Sangli but also a childhood friend of Smriti Mandhana. Furthermore, the case has been registered under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

The complaint mentions that the incident reportedly took place on November 22 at a toll plaza located on the Sangli-Ashta road. During this incident, Mane has alleged that an argument broke out between him and Palash Muchhal. More importantly, he claims that Palash used derogatory language related to caste during the altercation.

As a result of these allegations, the police have taken action. They have registered a case under Section 3(1) of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. In addition to this, Sections 351(2) and 352 have also been applied. At present, the investigation is ongoing, and authorities are looking into the matter carefully.

Financial Dispute Behind The Issue

In addition, reports suggest that the incident may be connected to a financial dispute between the two individuals. According to the police, Palash Muchhal had reportedly taken ₹25 lakh from Vidnyan Mane for a film production project.

Later on, Mane approached him to ask for the return of his money. However, when the issue was raised again, it led to a heated argument between them, which eventually resulted in the alleged incident.

Speaking to the media, Vidnyan Mane shared his side of the story. He said, “He assured me that the film would be completed in six months. However, he turned out to be deceitful. When I asked for my money back, he evaded the issue. When I confronted him, he used derogatory language; I cannot even repeat it on camera. His attitude is quite troubling."

At this stage, police officials have confirmed that a case has been registered and that the investigation is still in progress.

However, no further official details have been released yet. As the situation develops, both the legal proceedings and any responses from those involved are expected to be closely monitored.
