Pakistan's batting was exposed against Bangladesh in the first ODI, but the team bounced back in the second game to hammer the Tigers in a one-sided affair in the second ODI on Friday. The Men in Green played the perfect game on Friday as the home side had no answer to Pakistan’s onslaught.

Under overcast conditions, the Pakistan batters played sensibly as they posted 274 runs on the board. The assault was led by youngster Maaz Sadaqat, who slammed a quick-fire fifty, and he was amply supported by Salman Agha, who scored a valiant 64. In reply, the Tigers had no answer in front of the Pakistan bowling as they crumbled for just 114.

With this emphatic win, the series has moved towards the decider and Pakistan will aim to continue the momentum by winning the match. With tricky conditions on offer, the team can make changes to their playing XI, and here’s how they could lineup for the 3rd ODI.

Openers and top order: Sahibzada Farhan, Maaz Sadaqat, Shamyl Hussain

Maaz Sadaqat has looked good in the ODI series and he was also awarded the Player of the Match in the last game. He is young, and Pakistan needs to continuously support him for a longer duration. The young-gun will be supported by Sahibzada Farhan, who has failed in the last two games, but the team has no player on the bench to replace him.

Shamyl Hussain has been poor, and the Pakistan management is not helping him by making him bat at 3, instead of his usual opening slot. However, Shaheen Afridi has stated that all youngsters will be backed, and expect Shamyl to play the third ODI as well.

Middle order and all-rounders: Mohammad Rizwan(w), Salman Agha, Saad Masood, Abdul Samad, Faheem Ashraf

Rizwan and Salman Agha are the two backbones of the Pakistan middle-order, and the duo will once again be the key players if Pakistan are to win the third ODI. They did well in the second game on Friday, and once again, the onus will be on Rizwan and Salman Agha to steer the team home.

Hussain Talat was stretchered off the field in the second ODI as the batter injured his shoulder and screamed in pain. With him certainly out of the series decider, Pakistan has no choice but to include all-rounder, Saad Masood in the XI. Masood has done well in domestic cricket, and will be a useful addition in the playing XI.

Abdul Samad, and Faheem Ashraf will be the other all-rounders as Pakistan has a deep batting lineup.

Bowlers: Shaheen Afridi(c), Mohammad Wasim Jr, Haris Rauf

There is a talk that Abrar Ahmed should be included in the playing XI as he still remains Pakistan’s best spinner. However, the trio of Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Mohammad Wasim Jr did well in the second game.

The trio picked up 6 wickets out of the 10, and were almost unplayable as the Tigers had no answer to their bowling on the field. Hence, Abrar might not find a place and the team is likely to go ahead with the same bowling attack.
