Mumbai Indians unveil new jersey for IPL 2026

The Mumbai Indians franchise unveiled its new jersey design for the upcoming IPL 2026 season. Taking to social media, the franchise shared a short video where former captain Rohit Sharma, legendary fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and active skipper Hardik Pandya can be seen wearing the new jersey. Retaining the iconic blue but resembling their iconic IPL 2020-winning design, Mumbai Indians has now become the latest franchise to undergo a jersey revamp ahead of the upcoming edition of the tournament later this month.

Jay Shah announces record IND vs ENG semifinal viewership

ICC Chairman Jay Shah has announced that the second semifinal of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup played between hosts India and England fetched a staggering 65.2 million concurrent viewers at one stage on JioHotstar, the highest for any live event in the world. Shah credited the success to JioHotstar as well as to his own ICC team for constantly recruiting and “engaging with fans” at a global scale to set new benchmarks for the game.

In the match itself, Team India secured a thrilling seven-run win to storm into the final of the tournament and face New Zealand in Ahmedabad later this weekend.

Sayali Satghare keeps India Women in the hunt against Australia

Indian fast bowler and Test debutant Sayali Satghare kept her team in the hunt against Australia throughout the opening day of their one-off Test in Perth. The speedster struck big with the early wickets of Georgia Voll as well as that of legendary Australian captain and outbound cricketer Alyssa Healy as the hosts reached 96-3 in 27 overs by stumps.

Earlier in the day, India batted first and bundled out for just 198 in 62.4 overs courtesy of a four-wicket haul from all-rounder Annabel Sutherland. Lucy Hamilton (3-31) and Darcie Brown (2-41) also picked up crucial wickets to douse India’s batting line-up.

Andy Pycroft returns as ICC name officials for T20 World Cup final

Andy Pycroft will return to officiate in a Team India match once again, this time for the final of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup against New Zealand. The former Zimbabwe cricketer has been named as the match referee of the high-octane finale, after he officiated in the semifinal between India and England earlier this week.

As per the confirmation from the ICC, Richard Illingworth and Alex Wharf will serve as the two on-field umpires. Allahuddien Paleker and Adrian Holdstock have been named as the third and fourth umpires respectively.

Varun Chakravarthy backed by Ashwin despite struggles

Struggling Indian spinner Varun Chakravarthy has received the backing of former cricketer and legendary all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin. Varun has so far picked up 13 wickets in eight matches of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at an average of 19.07. However, the star spinner has struggled to make an impact in the Super 8s as well as in the semifinal match of the tournament against England.

Ashwin offered some tips for Varun, and the Indian spinner also received the backing of Virender Sehwag ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup final against New Zealand.
