MI Head Coach For IPL 2027: Kieron Pollard

Kieron Pollard has been appointed Mumbai Indians’ head coach for IPL 2027, replacing Mahela Jayawardene. Pollard previously served as the franchise’s batting coach after retiring as a player ahead of the 2023 season.

The former West Indies all-rounder has a long association with MI, having joined the franchise as a player in 2010. He was part of five IPL title-winning campaigns and understands the team’s culture and expectations.

His promotion marks a new chapter for Mumbai Indians as they look to return to the playoffs and challenge for another title.

MI Batting Coach For IPL 2027: Robin Uthappa

Robin Uthappa has been appointed Mumbai Indians’ batting coach ahead of IPL 2027. He returns to the franchise after representing MI in the inaugural IPL season in 2008.

Uthappa was part of India’s 2007 T20 World Cup-winning squad and enjoyed a successful IPL career, scoring 4,952 runs in 205 matches. He also won the Orange Cap in 2014 while representing Kolkata Knight Riders.

His role will involve developing the team’s batting skills, improving tactical decision-making and helping players adapt to the evolving demands of T20 cricket.

MI Bowling Coach For IPL 2027: Mitchell McClenaghan

Mitchell McClenaghan returns to Mumbai Indians as their bowling coach after previously representing the franchise between 2015 and 2020.

The former New Zealand fast bowler was part of four IPL title-winning campaigns with MI in 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020. Known for his aggressive approach and wicket-taking ability, McClenaghan brings considerable experience of T20 cricket.

He replaces Lasith Malinga, who had been part of Mumbai’s coaching set-up since IPL 2024. McClenaghan will be responsible for guiding the bowling unit and helping the franchise strengthen its plans across different match situations.

MI Fielding Coach For IPL 2027: T. Dilip

T. Dilip has joined Mumbai Indians as their fielding coach. He arrives after a successful stint with the Indian men’s team, where he was part of the coaching set-up during India’s 2024 and 2026 T20 World Cup triumphs and the 2025 Champions Trophy victory.

Dilip is known for his focus on athleticism, preparation and consistency in the field. His appointment comes after MI parted ways with Carl Hopkinson, who served as the franchise’s fielding coach.

MI Development Bowling Coach For IPL 2027: Dhawal Kulkarni

Dhawal Kulkarni has also returned to Mumbai Indians as their development bowling coach. The former India pacer represented MI across two spells, from 2008 to 2013 and again between 2020 and 2021.

Kulkarni was part of two IPL title-winning campaigns with Mumbai Indians, in 2013 and 2020. His familiarity with Indian conditions and experience in domestic and franchise cricket make him a valuable addition to the coaching group.

In his new role, Kulkarni will work on developing the franchise’s bowling talent, particularly young Indian fast bowlers. His responsibilities will also extend to supporting the team’s player-development programme throughout the year.

Mumbai Indians will hope that their revamped coaching group can bring fresh ideas and greater consistency to the team in IPL 2027. With Pollard leading the set-up and former MI players returning in key positions, the franchise will aim to put its recent struggles behind it and compete for a sixth IPL title.
