Rashid Khan has added another landmark to his remarkable T20I career, becoming the first bowler to reach 200 wickets in the format. The Afghanistan leg-spinner was already at the top of the all-time wicket-takers' list, but this achievement has taken him into uncharted territory.

Several experienced bowlers from established and associate cricket nations feature among the leading wicket-takers. Here's a look at the top five bowlers with the most wickets in T20Is.

5. Tim Southee (New Zealand) – 164 Wickets

Tim Southee made his T20I debut against England on February 5, 2008. Over a career spanning nearly 17 years in the format, he claimed 164 wickets in 126 matches before retiring from international cricket in December 2024.

Despite having called time on his international career, the former New Zealand captain remains among the top five wicket-takers in T20Is.

4. Ish Sodhi (New Zealand) – 165 Wickets

Ish Sodhi made his T20I debut against West Indies on July 5, 2014. The leg-spinner took 12 years to establish himself among the format's leading wicket-takers, reaching 165 wickets in 142 matches.

His ability to pick up wickets through the middle overs has made him a key part of New Zealand's T20I bowling attack.

3. Ehsan Khan (Hong Kong) – 165 Wickets

Ehsan Khan made his T20I debut against Ireland on September 5, 2016. The Hong Kong off-spinner took just over a decade to reach 165 wickets, matching Ish Sodhi's tally.

He has been a consistent performer for Hong Kong and became the first bowler from the country to reach 100 T20I wickets in 2024.

2. Adil Rashid (England) – 171 Wickets

Adil Rashid made his T20I debut against the Netherlands on June 5, 2009. More than 17 years later, the England leg-spinner has taken 171 wickets in 153 matches to become the second-highest wicket-taker in the format.

His variations, control and experience have made him a vital part of England's limited-overs bowling attack.

1. Rashid Khan (Afghanistan) – 200 Wickets

Rashid Khan made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe on October 26, 2015. Just over 11 years later, he became the first bowler in men's T20I history to reach 200 wickets, achieving the landmark in his 120th match against Zimbabwe on October 29, 2026.

The Afghanistan leg-spinner reached the milestone with the dismissal of Tadiwanashe Marumani and now leads the all-time list by a considerable margin.
