Sophie Molineux ruled out of rest of India series
Australia bowling all-rounder Sophie Molineux has been ruled out of the rest of Australia’s all-format home series against the visiting Indian team. The 28-year-old is experiencing lower back pain, and her availability for the West Indies tour is also currently in doubt.
Recently appointed as Australia’s all-format captain, Molineux is set to miss the final two ODIs and the one-off Test match of the series. Prior to her injury, she picked up five wickets in the first four white-ball games against India.
Matt Henry to leave New Zealand team after Super 8
New Zealand fast bowler Matt Henry is set to ditch the national squad after their final Super 8 match against England on February 27. The speedster will be flying back to New Zealand to be with his wife for the birth of their second child.
However, as per an NZC update, Henry might return to the squad depending upon New Zealand’s semifinal and final scenarios in the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The 34-year-old has picked up six wickets in New Zealand’s first five completed fixtures of the tournament before the England clash in Colombo.
Rinku Singh flies back home after father’s tragic death
Rinku Singh has left the Indian national squad to fly back home after learning the tragic demise of his father Khanchand Singh. Khanchand was admitted to the hospital a few days ago and was under strict medical supervision for his stage-4 liver cancer.
Rinku left the Indian squad shortly after their comprehensive win over Zimbabwe in match number 48 of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Chennai. As of now, it remains to be seen when the cricketer will be returning to the team for the rest of the tournament.
Kusal Mendis ruled out of T20 World Cup 2026: Report
Kusal Mendis has been reportedly ruled out of the remainder of Sri Lanka’s campaign this 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. As per a Newswire report, the cricketer suffered an injury and will be forced to miss Sri Lanka’s final Super 8 match of the tournament against Pakistan on Saturday, February 28.
Mendis started off the 2026 T20 World Cup with three successive half-centuries against Ireland, Oman and Australia in the group stage, all in match-winning causes for Sri Lanka.
IPL 2026 postponed by a couple of days: Report
The IPL 2026 season has been reportedly postponed by a couple of days. While the BCCI is yet to announce an official schedule for the tournament, the upcoming 19th season was originally set to begin from March 26 onwards.
However, as per a Cricbuzz report, the IPL 2026 season will now either commence from March 28 or March 29 onwards owing to the upcoming elections in Kolkata and the nationwide Ram Navami celebrations. As of now, the Election Commission of India (ECI) have not revealed any specific election dates yet.
