The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) franchise has unveiled a new jersey design for the upcoming IPL 2026 season. In a slick, minute-long reveal video shared across social media, senior pros Rishabh Pant, Aiden Markram and Mohammed Shami unveiled the new strip to the fans.
However, the design did not seem to meet the expectations of fans, as several of them resorted to trolling the franchise instead. While some fans criticized the updated design with hilarious memes, others compared the team’s new identity with that of a football club.
Incidentally, the LSG franchise had also unveiled a brand-new logo of the team earlier this week. However, the logo reveal had also met with a similar lukewarm response from fans on X.

LSG and India cricket fans in general have expressed their dissatisfaction over the new jersey reveal of the franchise for the upcoming IPL 2026 season.

Fans compare new LSG logo with Pan Masala Brand design
While fans are comparing LSG’s new jersey with that of a traditional football attire, they also lambasted the team’s new logo earlier this week. A couple of days ago, the franchise confirmed their new team emblem on social media, which features a royal elephant and radiant maroon colours.
In turn, fans mocked the new logo and compared it with a brand design of Pan Masala. Several fans took to X and shared hilarious memes at the expense of the team’s new identity.
LSG preps for IPL 2026 with star-studded line-up
In any case, the LSG franchise is now gearing up for the upcoming IPL 2026 season. Late last year, the franchise retained the likes of Aiden Markram, captain Rishabh Pant, hard-hitting batters Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh among several other international superstars.
The team also traded in legendary fast bowler Mohammed Shami, and aspiring paceman Arjun Tendulkar from the SRH and Mumbai Indians teams respectively.

While the new jersey and logo may have divided opinion online, the ultimate verdict will be delivered on the field. If LSG can translate their star power into results, the criticism surrounding their new identity will surely fade away.
The IPL 2026 season is scheduled to launch next month roughly a couple of weeks after the conclusion of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
