In a significant development, it has been understood that the Mohsin Naqvi-led PCB is exploring alternative venues to host the PSL 2026 final.

PCB planning to host PSL 2026 final in the UK
The PSL 2026 will mark the eleventh edition of the Pakistani T20 league. However, the tournament has never been held outside Pakistan since its inception in 2016, unlike its Indian rival, the IPL, which was hosted in South Africa in 2009.
However, the trend is expected to change this year, with the PCB planning to host the high-stakes PSL 2026 final in the United Kingdom.
According to a report by Cricwick, the Mohsin Naqvi-led PCB considers shifting the PSL 2026 final from Pakistan.

The Pakistani cricket board is exploring venues in the United Kingdom, with three iconic grounds- Edgbaston, Lord's and The Oval- shortlisted as potential options to stage the mega clash.
Why is PCB moving PSL final to the UK?
A major chunk of cricket fans in the United Kingdom belongs to the Pakistani diaspora. Statistically, over 1.6 million Pakistan-origin people live in the UK, especially in cities like Birmingham, Manchester and London.
Therefore, the United Kingdom emerges as the most suitable alternative venue, as the Mohsin Naqvi-led PCB aims to target a global audience and transform the PSL into a revenue-generating model.
The Pakistan-origin cricket fans in the UK will undoubtedly welcome players from their homeland. And considering it will be the final game of the competition, a large crowd is expected to turn the mega clash into a huge commercial success.
The PCB also seeks lucrative opportunities with the UK-based sponsors and brands that would line up to collaborate with the board for the growth of PSL as well as Pakistan cricket.
While its competitors- IPL, BBL and The Hundred- have received global recognition, the PSL has yet to grab the attention of cricket fans across the globe.
Therefore, the PCB is trying to utilise the PSL final as a tool and present it as a profitable product before the global investors. The move will further prepare a roadmap for future PSL matches across countries and continents.
However, having said that, an official update on the matter has yet to be issued, and it will undoubtedly be a historic move if the Mohsin Naqvi-led board pulls it off.
