Dynamic, destructive and dominant. At least these three are the words that were used for Pakistan’s young prodigy, Maaz Sadaqat, earlier in November 2025, when he flayed India A in the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025. The left-handed monstrosity raked a 47-ball 79 to dismantle India’s hopes in the marquee affair, and ever since, he has been a prominent attacker for Pakistan A.

Currently playing the England A series in Abu Dhabi, Maaz Sadaqat have responsibly carried out his part as the team cruised well enough in their batting innings against the England Lions. Sadaqat himself played a 36-ball 53 after his opening partner Shamyl Hussain fell in the very first over.

Maaz Sadaqat Boasts Solid Form With The Bat

Yet to make his international debut, Sadaqat has, however, cooked up a storm in the domestic circuit in Pakistan. The 20-year-old already has 1,451 runs under his belt from just 25 first-class matches at an average of 30.18.

In the T20 segment too, he has been in terrific form, scoring 894 runs from just 32 appearances, averaging 35.76 at a massive strike rate of 141.90. Interestingly, he also has five half-centuries to his name in the shortest format of the game.

Continuing his rise as a young gun, he also participated in PSL 2025 for Peshawar Zalmi, where he scored 78 runs from four appearances at an average of 39.00 while striking at over 160+. In the BPL too, Maaz was picked by Noakhali Express, the newest franchise of the Bangladesh Premier League, where he played five matches in the tournament.

Sadaqat’s England A Heroics Lead team’s Total

Maaz Sadaqat's form in the England series, though, has been hot and cold. In the first T20I, he scored an 18-ball 17, followed by a 25-ball 32. However, his heroics in the third T20I gave Pakistan an upper hand, while the men's national team has been struggling against the senior England side in the T20 World Cup 2026.

While Pakistan is battling hard in the Super 8 Group 2 clash against England and found it tough to win the match, the A team has gained good control of their game to post a solid total for England A to chase.

Maaz Sadaqat's rise, however, has been one to watch. Rising through the National Under-19 One Day Tournament in 2020, Sadaqat established himself as a premier talent, finishing as the highest run-scorer for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 363 runs in the tournament.

He followed it up with solid performances in the PCB National Under-19 Cup, the Under-19 Asia Cup, and the Under-19 World Cup. His red-ball success also peaked with Peshawar after his 114 off 140 balls in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

With form as well as consistency on his side, Sadaqat is slowly emerging as a strong contender for the opening spot in Pakistan's senior men's national team.

Sameer Minhas Suffers Under Sadaqat’s Shadow?

All of this hustle-bustle around Maaz Sadaqat, however, has somewhat overshadowed another talent, Sameer Minhas. The young star was known for his Under-19 Asia Cup heroics, where he finished as the tournament's leading run-scorer with 471 runs.

His standout performance came against India in the final, where he smashed a massive 113-ball 172 to lead Pakistan to the title. After Islamabad United roped him in for 1.9 crore PKR during PSL 2026, Minhas's value with the bat has continued to grow.

A Slight Harmless Dip For Sameer Minhas

Soon after his upward trajectory, his form took a slight, harmless dip. Following his Under-19 Asia Cup heroics, he featured in the Zimbabwe Tri-Series, where he scored two solid centuries in the series, though he was also dismissed for a duck.

In the Under-19 World Cup, he finished with a strike rate of 105.35 from five appearances, while in his only appearance in the England series, Sameer Minhas managed just 10 runs from 11 deliveries before being dismissed by Scott Currie while sharing the responsibility of anchoring Pakistan's innings alongside Maaz Sadaqat.

These two young prospects have become key talking points for the Men in Green selectors regarding whether they can eventually replace or succeed the current top order in the coming years. While that remains speculative, the duo continues to impress as PSL 2026 is set to showcase the explosiveness and technique of these young guns soon.
