Once India’s son-in-law and famous Tennis player Sania Mirza’s ex-husband, Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik, is set for his fourth marriage, at least that is what the rumours are telling. The Pakistan cricketer who retired back in 2021 from international cricket and also announced his PSL retirement back in January, is reportedly set to marry Pakistani actress Laiba Khan.

Several X handles and Pakistan local media have been headlining the story with no official claim fron neither Shoaib Malik nor Laiba Khan yet. If the rumours are to be true, this will Malik’s fourth marriage venture since his first marriage back in 2002 with Ayesha Siddiqui.

Shoaib Malik And The Saga Of His Marriage Ventures

It has been a peculiar journey for Malik in his marital life. Shoaib, who is a Muslim by birth, first tied the knot with Ayesha Siddiqui in a controversial ‘telephonic nikah’ in 2002. The marriage was initially kept hidden by Malik.

However, in 2010, Ayesha Siddiqui filed a complaint against him when the cricketer was about to get engaged to Indian tennis star Sania Mirza. Sania Mirza, a very popular figure, was allegedly in a romantic relationship with Malik before 2010.

Siddiqui, whose marriage to Malik had not been publicly disclosed, then filed an official complaint, which eventually led to their divorce on April 7, 2010.

Malik later married Sania Mirza in a high-profile ceremony in Hyderabad, India, in 2010. They shared a relationship that lasted 13 years and welcomed their son, Izhaan Malik, in 2018 before the couple divorced in early 2024.

However, his marital journey did not end there. Shoaib Malik then married Pakistani actress Sana Javed, announcing their wedding publicly on January 20, 2024.

Reports suggested that the two may have been in a relationship for up to three years before their marriage, which overlaps with the period when Sania Mirza was still married to Malik. Currently, Malik is married to Sana Javed, and reports about him planning to marry Laiba Khan have also surfaced.

Is Shoaib Malik Really Marrying Laiba Khan?

Laiba Khan is a popular Pakistani actress who was born in Karachi in 1997 and is known for her roles in popular Urdu dramas. She boasts a successful television career and continues to rise in prominence in the industry.

While social media ignited the viral rumour of Laiba Khan and Shoaib Malik's wedding, it is important to note that Laiba Khan herself is married. Khan married Jawad in a private Nikah ceremony in November 2024 and has since been happily married. The marriage was publicly announced on January 27, 2026, through her social media posts.

So far, no credible news source or prominent media house has confirmed the legitimacy of the rumour. As stated earlier, neither Shoaib nor Laiba Khan has ever confirmed meeting each other romantically or sharing a wedding date.

They have neither officially responded nor confirmed any engagement between the two. Hence, with no evidence of Shoaib preparing for his fourth marriage, the viral claim appears to be mere social media speculation and not based on any credible or verified source.

The Cricketing Career Of India’s Ex-Son-in-Law

Notably, Shoaib Malik’s cricketing career has also been unique in terms of the roles he has played. A true jack of all trades, he has fulfilled almost every role assigned to him. He is a batting all-rounder, though he started his career as an off-break bowler.

As a batter, he has successfully taken on multiple roles, including opening the innings in Tests and ODIs. In limited-overs cricket, he has played as a dangerous one-down batter as well as an aggressive lower-order slogger. The moral of the story is that in T20s, he can be a brutal hitter.

This is reflected in his T20I stats, where he has scored 2,435 runs from 124 matches at an average of 31.21 and a strike rate of 125.64. In the Pakistan Super League, his career-best strike rate in a season was 149.36 in 2021, followed by his most successful season in 2022 when he scored 401 runs from 11 appearances in the league.

With the ball as well, in ODIs, Shoaib Malik has taken 158 wickets, which highlights his dual role and adaptability across different positions.
