During the Bangladesh innings at Dhaka Test against West Indies, wicketkeeper batter Litton Das sustained an unfortunate injury, courtesy to Jayden Seales, who injured the 32-year-old with the new ball.

Although Litton got hit during the 83rd over, he showed character and determination as he continued for another 15 overs, remaining unbeaten on a 88-ball 34 as Bangladesh were bowled out for 272, despite Shadman Islam's historic ton.

Jayden Seales hits Litton Das on elbow, Jaker Ali keeps wickets in absence

During the 83rd over of the Bangladesh innings, a delivery from Jayden Seales took off after hitting a crack and struck Litton Das on the elbow, where he had no protection.

The short-of-a-length delivery injured his right elbow, and he was in obvious pain before the physiotherapist came out to help the keeper-batter. After a brief pause in play, he continued his innings by wearing an elbow guard.

Later, Seales hit him on his protected thumb as well, but that blow also stopped Litton from batting.

After the end of the innings, when the Bangladesh team marched out, Jaker Ali, who isn't a part of the starting eleven, came out with gloves on to keep wickets in the absence of Litton Das.

Litton's participation in the BAN vs WI 1st Test wasn't certain until the last moment, as he had just recovered from a hip injury.

Even courageous Litton Das couldn't halt Bangladesh's collapse

Moments before West Indies could take the new ball, Bangladesh lost the well-set Shadman Islam and Towhid Hridoy in a jiffy. However, Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz revived the innings as the senior-most players in the middle order.

The two looked to take Bangladesh past the 300-run mark, but a lapse in concentration from Mehidy Miraz dashed those hopes. Still, Litton remained determined but kept losing partners from the other end.

However, the freak injury kept Litton from turning his start into a big knock. As a result, Bangladesh collapsed from 221/3 to 272 all-out.
