England's contracted players may be allowed to remain in India for IPL 2027 commitments instead of returning early for the five-match ODI series against Pakistan next year.

The reported approach by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) could allow players to complete their franchise commitments before joining the team.

It is worth noting that the IPL 2027 is expected to run from March 10 to May 15, although the BCCI could make changes to the schedule.

England Players Could Stay In India For IPL 2027 Despite Pakistan ODI Series

It is important to note that England are scheduled to host Pakistan for five ODIs between May 15 and May 26, 2027. The opening match will take place in Southampton on May 15, followed by subsequent matches in Manchester, Leeds, Chester-le-Street and Cardiff, respectively.

The IPL 2027 could clash with Pakistan's tour of England in 2027. This could also create commitment issues for England players who might remain involved in the IPL until the tournament's conclusion.

According to a recent report by Cricinfo, the ECB will allow players to fulfil their IPL commitments in India rather than necessarily requiring them to return early for the ODI series.

However, the IPL 2027 final schedule and players’ availability will determine how things develop in future.

One thing that needs to be mentioned is that several England players, such as Ben Duckett and Harry Brook, have voluntarily withdrawn themselves from the IPL in the past despite being picked in the auction.

How Many England Players Are There In IPL?

England's several white-ball stars are associated with IPL franchises ahead of the 2027 season. Sunrisers Hyderabad have Liam Livingstone, Brydon Carse and David Payne.

Rajasthan Royals have fast bowler Jofra Archer and Sam Curran. On the other hand, Will Jacks is associated with Mumbai Indians, while Jamie Overton is linked with CSK.

The defending champions RCB have Phil Salt, Jacob Bethell and Jordan Cox. Gujarat Titans have prominent England players like Jos Buttler, Tom Banton and Luke Wood.
