Just three days after India's historic T20 World Cup victory in Ahmedabad, star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has landed in big trouble that involves his girlfriend, Mahieka Sharma.
Hardik Pandya was the one of the pillars for India during the 2026 T20 World Cup triumph, where he slammed 221 runs and took nine prized wickets, including his Player of the Match performances against Zimbabwe and Namibia.
In the big final, Pandya may have failed to give a great finish, but he did take the massive wicket of Mark Chapman during his four-over spell.

After India beat New Zealand, the Men in Blue celebrated their hearts out while dancing with their teammates, families, and close ones. While the celebrations for some Indian cricketers ended shortly, the rest of the cricketers, including Hardik Pandya, could not hold their emotions and took the celebration to a whole other level.
The star all-rounder chose to share that precious moment with his girlfriend, Mahieka Sharma. The power couple were the talk of the town throughout the tournament, and additionally, Hardik Pandya credited his lover for India's title win.
Advocate files police complain against Hardik Pandya
Meanwhile, after dancing their hearts out, the duo were seen lying around the podium, which has brought Hardik Pandya into legal trouble. According to ANI, an advocate, Wajid Khan, has filed a lawsuit against the Indian cricketer for disrespecting the Indian flag, which he wore on his shoulder after India won the 2026 T20 World Cup.

"You must have seen the T20 World Cup here. Hardik Pandya was dancing with his girlfriend. The national flag was tied to his back... According to Section 2 of the 1971 National Flag Act, we should respect the dignity of the national flag. However, Pandya was so lost in the celebration of his victory that he was lying with his girlfriend, wearing the national flag... I believe it is an insult to the national flag," the advocate said as quoted by ANI.
Furthermore, the report mentions that Advocate Khan has filed a complaint with the Shivaji Nagar police station in Pune, which initially asked the lawyer to report the matter in Ahmedabad; however, after his resistance, they had to file a report against Hardik Pandya.
"I have filed a complaint with the Shivaji Nagar police station. When I went to file the complaint, they told me the incident occurred there, not here. So I told them that the national flag is a symbol of the entire nation, and we can file a complaint with the Shivaji Nagar police. They have accepted my complaint and provided me with a copy. Let's see what happens next. I have filed the complaint," Khan added.

Neither Hardik Pandya nor Mahieka Sharma nor anyone from their teams has made any public statement about the matter yet. The duo were seen at Mumbai airport on Tuesday, heading back home.
The all-rounder will next be seen in action on March 29, leading the Mumbai Indians against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
