India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya played an important role in the team’s success in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. In the final match held in Ahmedabad, India defeated New Zealand by 96 runs and successfully defended their T20 World Cup title. 

As a result, India lifted the trophy for the third time in history. Soon after the match ended, celebrations began inside the stadium and across the country.

In addition, Mahieka Sharma gave him a quick kiss on the cheek while celebrating the big moment together. Later, the couple walked across the field while holding hands and enjoying the joyful atmosphere inside the stadium.

Hardik calls Mahieka Sharma his lucky charm

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya spoke to the host broadcaster after the victory in Ahmedabad. During the interview, he praised Mahieka Sharma for supporting him throughout the tournament. 

"This is the victory I have always lived for. This is why I have played cricket. I want to win trophies. I want to win as many trophies as I can. In 2024, I had said that whatever trophies I play for, I will win. And I believe that. This trophy is a validation of that," Pandya told the broadcaster on Sunday.

"There is a lot of hard work. There is not only talk, but there is a lot of hard work. Work hard, stay silent, be a good person. Since Maheika has come into my life, I have only been winning," he added.

Hardik Pandya’s strong performance in T20 World Cup

During the tournament, the 32-year-old all-rounder delivered an impressive performance. Notably, Pandya scored 217 runs in nine matches with a strike rate of 160.74. In addition, he scored two half-centuries during the competition. 

Along with his batting performance, he also picked up nine wickets. As a result, he played an important role in India’s successful T20 World Cup campaign.
