Pakistan opted for fresher talent over experienced names, with Mohammad Rizwan being the most experienced batter in Pakistan's ranks for the Bangladesh tour. However, the 33-year-old failed to repay the trust invested in him as he had a forgettable three-game series.

In the three matches, Mohammad Rizwan could only notch 58 runs at a pitiful average of 19.33, with a best score of 44 runs in the second ODI that Pakistan won. Throughout the series, the wicketkeeper-batter was seen jittery against pace, getting awfully beaten in around the off-stump line.

Ahmed Shehzad mocks Mohammad Rizwan

While commenting on Pakistan's series defeat and Mohammad Rizwan's batting struggles, Ahmed Shehzad took to his YouTube channel to give the former Pakistan captain a horsewhipping.

Shehzad mocked Rizwan by saying that the ball is not coming in his range now, referring to an old video of the wicketkeeper practising in nets. The cricketer-turned-pundit also questioned Rizwan's technique after the series defeat against Bangladesh

β€œThe balls are just coming in your range, (Mohammad) Rizwan sahab. So much time has passed. We have been saying this for quite some time now. The technique is not there. You have your game based on the leg side. Learn he learn start ho gaya. Learn he learn start ho gaya. (You have just been learning for so many years now),” Ahmed Shehzad said on his YouTube channel.

Woeful Bangladesh ODIs for Mohammad Rizwan

During the three-match ODI series, Mohammad Rizwan succumbed to pace, as the Bangladesh seamers made life pretty hard for the right-handed batter by bowling consistently in the corridor of uncertainty.

In the first ODI, speedster Nahid Rana exposed the flaw in Rizwan's technique as his feet were glued in the crease, getting a thick edge to Liton Das behind the sticks. While he scored 44 courageous runs in the next game, Taskin Ahmed got one nip in sharply through the huge gap between bat and pad in the final game.

All in all, the tour of Bangladesh wasn't fruitful at all for the wicketkeeper batter, who has played 103 ODIs for Pakistan. Rizwan may enjoy an average in the mid-40s in the format, but his unorthodox technique has always been under scrutiny and a source of concern for him.

What's next for Mohammad Rizwan?

Mohammad Rizwan was dropped from Pakistan's squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup. Meanwhile, the top-order batter last played the T20Is back in January 2026 against South Africa.

With the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 around the corner, Rizwan will look to get back in Pakistan's fold in the limited-overs squads, especially after a dismal show in the Bangladesh ODIs.

He will be featuring for the brand-new franchise, Rawalpindi Pindiz, after ending his four-year stint at the Multan Sultans. The former Multan Sultans skipper, who has played 93 PSL games, is expected to play just as a player this season.
