Kuldeep Yadav has joined the Yorkshire cricket club for the England 2026 domestic season. Kusal Mendis has been ruled out of the LPL 2026 season. In other news, Zimbabwe has announced a strong squad for the T20I series against India.

Zimbabwe announce squad for India T20Is, Sikandar Raza to lead

Zimbabwe Cricket has named a strong 15-player squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against India. Sikandar Raza will continue to lead the team, and he will be assisted by fellow star performers like Brian Bennett, Ryan Burl, Brad Evans, Richard Ngarava, Dion Myers among others.

The series between India and Zimbabwe will be played from July 23 and July 26, and all three matches will be hosted by the iconic Harare Sports Club in Harare. 

Rahmat Shah named new Afghanistan captain

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has appointed Rahmat Shah as the new ODI and Test captain of the Afghanistan cricket team. Shah was appointed for the high-profile role just a day after senior batter Hashmatullah Shahidi tendered his resignation.

The board also named attacking Afghanistan opening batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz as the vice-captain for both formats.

Colombo Kaps captain Kusal Mendis ruled out of LPL 2026

Sri Lanka white-ball captain Kusal Mendis has been ruled out of the remainder of the LPL 2026 season. The senior wicketkeeper-batter played just two matches in the tournament before sustaining a hamstring injury

Mendis was leading the Colombo Kaps franchise, and his injury absence has prompted the team management to name Kamindu Mendis as interim skipper. As of now, it remains to be seen if the cricketer attains recovery in time for Sri Lanka’s home Test series against India. 

Kuldeep Yadav joins Yorkshire for County Championship, One-Day Cup 2026

Out-of-favour Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav has joined the Yorkshire cricket club in England. Kuldeep’s two-part stint will see him play eight matches for the club on either side of India’s upcoming Test tour of Sri Lanka.

The cricketer is expected to play five matches for Yorkshire in the 2026 One-Day Cup, before returning to the team for three County Championship Division One 2026 fixtures.

Jayden Lennox finishes West Indies ODI series with record haul

New Zealand left-arm spinner Jayden Lennox picked up three more wickets in his team’s fifth and final ODI of the series against West Indies. The 31-year-old has now concluded his five-match series with an astonishing haul of 14 wickets, as the ‘Black Caps’ secured a remarkable 3-2 series win. 

Lennox also fittingly bagged the ‘Player of the Series’ award, and the cricketer now holds the rare New Zealand record among spinners of securing the highest number of wickets in a bilateral ODI series.
