On Wednesday, July 22, Zimbabwe Cricket announced the 15-member squad for upcoming India T20Is. Notably, the squad has been made public just 24 hours before the 1st of the three match T20I series.
The two teams will lock horns for the 1st T20I on Thursday, July 23 at the Harare Sports Club. Notably, Sikandar Raza will lead the side and The Chevrons have named a strong side to face India.

All-rounder Wessly Madhevere returns to the team and wicketkeeper-batter Tafadzwa Tsiga has earned his first T20I call-up. Newman Nyamhuri is also back after missing the Bangladesh T20Is because of injury.

Zimbabwe Fresh off Series Defeat vs Bangladesh
Zimbabwe are fresh off a T20I series defeat against Bangladesh, low on confidence. The two teams recently met in Zimbabwe, where The Tigers clinched the series 2-1.
The Chevrons won the opening match of the series, but Bangladesh bounced back and registered two wins on a trot to seal the series. Hence, Zimbabwe will look to turn things around India.

The last time these two teams met against each other was in 2024 where India handed Zimbabwe a 4-1 defeat in a five-match series.
Sikandar Raza Issues Threat To India
Ahead of the India T20Is, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza has ruled out that it will be an easy task for the Indian team. Raza added that both teams have equal chance of winning the series.
“Both countries will have an equal chance in this series. But one thing I am very sure about is that because Zimbabwe has been playing very consistent and very entertaining cricket, I can say this for sure that this series will be very entertaining,” Raza told Star Sports.
Notably, Indian team is already in Harare and are sweating hard in the nets. Shreyas Iyer will lead the side and VVS Laxman will be the coach in charge as the board is looking to manage Gautam Gambhir's workload.
