After three back-to-back losses, the Chennai Super Kings are back with two consecutive wins (against DC, KKR). The team has been struggling for form in the IPL 2026, with concerns surrounding their bowling attack and the form of captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Numerous CSK players have been hit with injuries, with the latest inductee being Khaleel Ahmed, who has been ruled out of the tournament. Also, the return of MS Dhoni is highly anticipated, as the CSK great will miss the clash vs SRH.

On the other hand, SRH have blown hot and cold in IPL 2026. In the last match against the Rajasthan Royals, SRH made a smart move by giving chances to two youngsters, Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain, and the duo ran riot to dismantle the RR batting lineup.

On paper, SRH look solid, but they need to be at their best to defeat the CSK side. Ahead of the riveting battle, we take a look at who won the toss today in the SRH Vs CSK IPL match.

SRH Vs CSK IPL 2026 toss update

CSK won the toss and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad had no hesitation in bowling first. There is rain threat in Hyderabad, and keeping the DLS in mind, CSK have taken the bowling decision. MS Dhoni will miss the ongoing clash as well, as the CSK legend recovers from a calf injury.

Ishan Kishan, the SRH skipper was happy to bat first, as scoring runs and putting the opposition under pressure has been SRH's strength.

(Note: Ishan Kishan becomes the first in IPL history to lose each of his first six tosses as a captain).

SRH Vs CSK: What the captains had to say

Ruturaj Gaikwad: "[On toss decision and reason] We are going to bowl first. Looks a good track, won't change much. But definitely, looks a good track so we will look to chase.

[Mood after two wins and moving up the table] Yes, good to be up from the bottom and as you said, we had started to do basic things right. Our batting is good, our bowling is good, the fielding is 50-50. But I think in all the departments we have been doing really well. It is about being consistent and do the basics right.

[On multiple players performing] Yes, obviously. Last game, Noor bowled well. Good to have him back on track. Anshul has been bowling good in the death. Couple of guys stepping up helps a lot. It gives me and the team a lot of confidence.

Ishan Kishan: "(On losing the toss) I think we would have batted first. You know, batting here—it looks like a pretty good track to me. Putting up a good total, that was the plan of our team, so nothing to worry at all.

(Batting is SRH's strength, right?) 100%. I think the plan for us batting in the first innings is always that you have to bat for the team, not look at individual performances. If the ball is there from ball one, you have to just go for it. That has worked pretty well for us, so we look to do the same thing again and again, being in a very good headspace throughout the tournament.
