It won’t be an understatement to say that RCB player Phil Salt is the best fielder of the IPL 2026 season. Throughout the first six RCB games, Salt has plucked some unreal catches, and his grabs have already entered the list of the best catches of the tournament.
In the match against the Delhi Capitals, RCB were put into bat, and the franchise struggled after an initial boost. The defending champions crumbled in front of the DC bowlers and were restricted to a mere 175.
To defend a low-scoring total, RCB needed early wickets, and the defending champions did exactly that as Bhuvneshwar Kumar was on point, right from ball one.
Salt grabs unreal catch as Kohli, Anushka appreciate
In the first over, Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed Pathum Nissanka, and the RCB pacer came back in the third over to get the prized wicket of Karun Nair. However, the credit of the wicket should also be given to Salt, who snatched a world-class catch to push DC on the backfoot.
The RCB pacer, Bhuvneshwar, bowled a back-of-length ball outside the off as Nair goes for the big shot and gets an outside-edge. The ball goes towards the deep backward point region as Salt runs in and slides perfectly to take a superb catch.
After the catch, Kohli was pumped as he roared like a lion and hugged Bhuvneshwar. At the same time, the camera panned towards Anushka Sharma, who appreciated Salt’s unreal efforts.
Kohli was equally excited when Sameer Rizvi, the dangerous batter was sent packing by a blinder from Jitesh Sharma.

Salt makes difficult catches look easy
Phil Salt has saved countless boundaries for his franchise in the ongoing IPL, and the trend started from game one of IPL 2026. He took a stunner to dismiss Ishan Kishan, and in the same match, Salt took a blinder to dismiss Heinrich Klaasen.
Throughout the first six games, Salt has plucked some unreal grabs, and apart from his catching efforts, Salt has been equally good in ground fielding, saving plenty of boundaries for the RCB team.
He generally fields on the boundary ropes and has managed to grab some difficult catches, and at the same time, he has managed to make them look easy. The English player has sharp reflexes, and it makes him the best in terms of catching, and ground fielding.

Kohli himself takes a stunner to keep RCB alive
Despite taking three early wickets and pushing DC on the back foot, RCB bowlers struggled against KL Rahul. The DC opener had a terrific record against the Royal Challengers, and he once again proved to be their biggest nemesis.

The miracle was provided by Virat Kohli himself, who plucked a diving catch at long-off. KL Rahul stepped down the track against Krunal Pandya, but he failed to get the desired connection as Kohli’s take ended his run.
