On Thursday, May 7, a massive controversy occurred during RCB vs LSG match at the Ekana Stadium when Krunal Pandya and Nicholas Pooran exchanged heated words. The incident occurred in the first innings when the two confronted each other.
Notably, in the 10th over of the match, Krunal tested Pooran with a bouncer, which was pushed away for a single by the LSG star. After completing the run, the duo got too close to each other and exchanged a few heated words before the umpire intervened and separated them.

However, in the same clip, the duo burst into laughter, signalling that all is well between them. For the unversed, Krunal Pandya and Nicholas Pooran have played a lot of cricket together as the RCB all-rounder was previously part of Lucknow Super Giants in their initial two years.

The matter escalated overnight, and it has actually forced Krunal Pandya to issue an official statement regarding the incident.

RCB Fail To Top Table, LSG Stay Alive In IPL
Shedding light on the intense game between RCB and LSG, the Rishabh Pant-led side registered their first win at the Ekana in 8 matches and handed RCB a 9-run defeat via DLS method.
The Super Giants, batting first, put 209 runs on the board. In reply, RCB lost both their openers early in the innings. However, Rajat Patidar and Tim David went all guns blazing and nearly sealed a win for their side.
With the defeat, RCB, who had the chance to top the table, are still third with 12 points in 10 matches. Further, LSG, who would have become the first team to be eliminated in IPL 2026, stay alive with the win.
Talking about performances from Krunal Pandya and Nicholas Pooran, then the two had great individual performances. Pandya was the best bowler for RCB with a solitary wicket. Even with the bat, Krunal scored an unbeaten 28 (16).
Nicholas Pooran also shone with the bat and amassed 38 (23). Notably, the southpaw is fresh off a great performance against Mumbai Indians and was high on confidence against the defending champions.
