Delhi Capitals Women blanked UP Warriorz to cap the league stage of the WPL 2026 season on an emphatic note. The outcome also helped the Capitals seal a spot in the playoffs of the tournament.

Here, we take a look at the entire highlights from the 20th match of the WPL 2026 season between Delhi Capitals Women vs UP Warriorz Women, as it panned out at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on Sunday, February 1.

Marizanne Kapp, Shree Charani decimate UP Warriorz

Delhi Capitals fast bowler Chinelle Henry instantly justified her captain Jemimah Rodrigues’ call of bowling first by trapping UP Warriorz captain Meg Lanning off the first ball of the match. Henry’s new ball pace mate and legendary South African cricketer Marizanne Kapp took care of a well-set Deepti Sharma (24 off 19) and Charli Knott (12 off 12) both inside the powerplay as the Warriorz slipped to 36-3 in six overs.

Wily left-arm spinner Shree Charani deceived Warriorz' in-form number four Harleen Deol for a sluggish three from 11 balls, and Kapp return to get rid of seasoned pro Deandra Dottin (5 off 9) as the Warriorz stumbled to 52-5 around the halfway stage of the innings. Kapp eventually finished her four-over quota with sensational figures of 3-30.

For the Warriorz, Simran Shaikh scored a vital 22 off 14 balls with three cracking boundaries, and number 11 Shikha Pandey bludgeoned an unbeaten 23* off 13 to take her side to a respectable 122-8 in 20 overs. Asha Sobhana also listed a crucial 13 at a run-a-ball to overcome a potential late collapse.

Chinelle Henry (2-25) and Shree Charani (2-22) added a wicket each to their tally in the slog overs to compound four wickets between them in their combined economical eight overs. Minnu Mani also chipped in with a wicket, that of UP Warriorz Women wicketkeeper-batter Shipra Giri for just nine to claim 1-13.

Laura Wolvaardt get Delhi Capitals off to a flier

Delhi Capitals Women lost blistering opener Lizelle Lee for just 10 off 10 balls in the second over of the match. Deandra Dottin struck the opening blow for the UP Warriorz with a length delivery wide of off stump.

Lee’s opening partner Shafali Verma led Capitals’ recovery with a steady 73-run partnership with vintage South African Laura Wolvaardt. The two cricketers cruised the Capitals towards safe waters, with Verma compiling 29 off 33 balls. Wolvaardt herself blasted 47 from just 36 deliveries with seven cracking boundaries to top-score in the innings.

Jemimah Rodrigues negates Deepti Sharma, Ecclestone’s fightback

Deepti Sharma fought back for the UP Warriorz with the huge wicket of a well-set Laura Wolvaardt as well as that of Chinelle Henry in quick succession. Shikha Pandey (1-17) and Sophie Ecclestone (1-20) also dismissed Shafali Verma and Marizanne Kapp respectively as the Capitals slipped from 84-1 to 101-5.

However, captain Jemimah Rodrigues bludgeoned 34* off just 18 balls to blaze Delhi Capitals to a comfortable five-wicket win in 18.4 overs and into the WPL 2026 playoffs.
