Jasprit Bumrah leads Mumbai Indians vs PBKS
Jasprit Bumrah stepped in to lead the Mumbai Indians franchise against the Punjab Kings in match 58 of the IPL 2026 season. The cricketer was appointed as captain in place of regular skipper Hardik Pandya and his deputy Suryakumar Yadav, considering both middle-order batters were ruled out of the playing XI owing to various reasons.

It is worth noting that Bumrah became the 10th cricketer to lead Mumbai Indians, joining the likes of Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar and others.
Faheem Ashraf joins Yorkshire for T20 Blast 2026
Pakistan all-rounder Faheem Ashraf has been roped in by the Yorkshire cricket club for the upcoming Vitality T20 Blast 2026 season. The cricketer was recruited in place of Australian all-rounder Will Sutherland, consider the latter has been ruled out of the tournament owing to an injury.
Ashraf recently represented the Islamabad United franchise at the PSL 2026 season in Pakistan. Prior to that, he went wicketless at the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup.
Zakir Hasan replaces Shadman Islam for Pakistan decider
Bangladesh opener Shadman Islam has been ruled out of the upcoming series-deciding second Test against Pakistan in Sylhet. The cricketer suffered an injury while fielding in the first Test in Mirpur, prompting the BCB to recall wicketkeeper-batter Zakir Hasan in the playing XI.
Shadman, a veteran of 27 Tests for Bangladesh, managed to register scores of just 13 and 10 during his team’s big win in the first match of the series.
Dian Forrester replaces Jamie Overton in CSK for IPL 2026
South Africa batting all-rounder Dian Forrester has been roped in by the CSK franchise for the remainder of the ongoing IPL 2026 season. Forrester, who recently played PSL 2026 in Pakistan, will be replacing outbound Jamie Overton.
Overton was ruled out of the tournament earlier this week owing to a right thigh injury. He has now returned to the UK for “further assessment and management.”
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Tilak Varma named in India A squad
The BCCI Men’s Selection Committee has named a 15-player India A squad for the upcoming tri-nation A series. India star Tilak Varma will lead the side, with Rajasthan Royals skipper Riyan Parag serving as his deputy.
Teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was also included in the team alongside Punjab Kings openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh. The tri-series will be played in Sri Lanka in June, and it will involve Afghanistan A as the third team.
