4 Teams In Fray To Qualify For IPL 2026 Playoffs
After Mumbai Indians' win, Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, and Kolkata Knight Riders are still the four teams in contention to qualify for IPL 2026 playoffs. All the above mentioned teams prayed for MI's win and now there chances have been increased.
Therefore, this article will shed light on IPL 2026 playoffs for CSK, RR, DC, KKR.
How Has MI's Win Helped CSK's Qualification Scenario?
As mentioned above, Punjab Kings are placed 4th on the table with 13 points. CSK will play against LSG on May 15 in their 12th match of the tournament. If they win tomorrow's fixture, then CSK will enter the top-four for the first time in IPL 2026.

If PBKS would have won today's match, then CSK would have had to beat LSG by a big margin to better their net run-rate than SRH and then move to 4th on the table. However, now, just a solitary win will do it and CSK will be 4th on the table.
How Has MI's Win Helped Rajasthan Royals' Qualification Scenario?
For Rajasthan Royals, they too have 12 points and 3 matches remaining in the tournament. Notably, RR can reach a maximum of 18 points. PBKS' defeat means that now Rajasthan can afford one more defeat and still end up at 4th on the table.
RR will face Delhi Capitals on Sunday and a win there will take them to 4th on the table with 14 points in 12 matches, one more point than Punjab Kings at present.
How Has MI's Win Helped Delhi Capitals' Qualification Scenario?
Delhi Capitals are almost out of the tournament. Notably, they have just 2-5% chance of qualifying. MI's win today had the biggest impact on Delhi Capitals, because they want maximum of teams to stay on 14 points or fewer till the end of the group stage.
Notably, DC can reach a maximum of 14 points. Now, they need to pray that CSK lose all their remaining matches and so do Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings. It is a difficult thing to ask more, but MI's win makes DC mathematically alive in the tournament.
How Has MI's Win Helped KKR's Qualification Scenario?
For Kolkata Knight Riders, they can reach a maximum of 15 points. PBKS' defeat was very important for them because now, PBKS can reach a maximum of 17 points. Knight Riders now need to register two more wins to reach 13 points, which is Punjab Kings' point at the moment.
The road is tough for the Ajinkya Rahane-led side, but they need to believe that they can reach 15 points if not 17. Now, reaching 15 points with a better net run-rate will also help them to qualify.
