The CSK franchise registered its first win of the IPL 2026 season. Opening batter Sanju Samson struck an electrifying century in the match against the Delhi Capitals. In other news, Pakistan legend Babar Azam attained a huge record in PSL 2026.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ravi Bishnoi on top, CSK register first win

Rajasthan Royals opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continues to hold the coveted ‘Orange Cap’ of the IPL 2026 season. His opening partner, Yashasvi Jaiswal, however, slipped to number three position on the season’s run-scoring charts in favour of Heinrich Klaasen. Sooryavanshi’s teammate Ravi Bishnoi also retained his ‘Purple Cap’ of IPL 2026 for bagging nine wickets so far in the tournament in just four matches at an average of 12.66.

Rajasthan Royals remains the number one team on the IPL 2026 points table for securing four wins in four matches. The CSK franchise, meanwhile, registered its first win of the season by thrashing Delhi Capitals in Chennai.

Sanju Samson storms back into form with century vs Capitals

Sanju Samson regained his lost touch with the bat by plundering 115* off just 56 balls against Delhi Capitals in match 18 of the IPL 2026 season. The CSK opener clattered 15 boundaries and four huge sixes in his innings in Chennai, as the hosts mounted 212-2 in 20 overs. The innings marked Samson’s first fifty-plus score for CSK, and also his first of the season after registering just 22 runs in his first three matches.

Babar Azam first to complete 4,000 PSL runs

Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam compiled 43 runs off 40 balls against Lahore Qalandars in match 19 of the PSL 2026 season in Karachi. His innings, coupled with Kusal Mendis’ 74, helped Zalmi secure a comfortable win.

The innings also helped Babar complete 4,000 runs in his PSL career, thus becoming the first player in the history of the tournament to scale the landmark figure.

Mustafizur Rahman’s PSL journey halted as Bangladesh name squad for NZ ODIs

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 15-player Bangladesh squad for the first two ODIs of the upcoming three-match home series against New Zealand. While all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz is set to continue as Bangladesh captain, senior fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman was also included in the squad, thus jeopardizing his ongoing PSL 2026 stint in Pakistan.

David Warner suffers back pain, misses Karachi Kings PSL 2026 match

Karachi Kings captain David Warner missed his team’s recent PSL 2026 match against the Hyderabad Kingsmen in Karachi. Interim skipper Moeen Ali confirmed at the toss that the legendary Australian opener is suffering from back pain, and was forced to be ruled out of the team’s playing XI. Warner was later replaced by South African opener Reeza Hendricks in the team for the match against Kingsmen.
