In the ongoing IPL 2026 match between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals, Sarfaraz Khan has hogged the internet for his brilliant piece of fielding. Sarfaraz is not someone who is known for his acrobatic skills on the ground, but the CSK star stunned the Chepauk crowd with a Suresh Raina-like catch.
Sarfaraz Khan got the danger man Axar Patel out who was stunned to see the brilliant diving catch at point. The CSK star was impressed by his effort and ran a good 30-40 metres around the ground, celebrating the catch.

CSK, batting first, rode on Sanju Samson’s century and put 212 runs on the board. In reply, Delhi Capitals got off to a brilliant start and stitched a 61-run opening stand. However, CSK bowlers turned things around and picked up 3 wickets in just eight balls.
As mentioned above, Axar Patel’s dismissal was the most talked-about one. On the 1st ball of the 7th ball, Axar Patel played a sharp cut shot, but Sarfaraz dived to his right and plucked onto a brilliant catch. The entire stadium couldn’t believe what they saw, nor could Sarfaraz himself.

Axar Patel failed to shine against Gujarat Titans and scored just 2 runs in that game, his highest score in the tournament so far. Even with the ball, he has just 3 wickets in four matches. The captain has himself admitted that he is not happy with his season so far.
Even after his dismissal against Chennai Super Kings, Axar was in disbelief and got a pat on the back from head coach Hemang Badani, who silently conveyed that things will turn around for him.
