Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravi Bishnoi on top, LSG wins but Royals retain number one spot

Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal continues to remain at the top of the run-scoring charts of the IPL 2026 season with 170 runs in just three innings at a splendid average of 170. The cricketer is the active holder of the coveted ‘Orange Cap’. His teammate Ravi Bishnoi, on the other hand, is still in possession of the ‘Purple Cap’ for picking up seven wickets so far in the tournament at an impressive bowling average of 11.71.

While LSG pipped the KKR franchise in a last-ball thriller at the Eden Gardens, the Rajasthan Royals group is still occupying the number one spot on the IPL 2026 points table with three wins in three matches.

Babar Azam becomes fastest to 12,000 T20 runs

Pakistan great Babar Azam belted 87* runs off just 51 balls against Karachi Kings in match 17 of the PSL 2026 season. Opening the innings for Peshawar Zalmi, the legendary batter smeared 10 boundaries and two huge sixes in the game. Through the course of his knock, Babar also completed 12,000 runs in T20s in just his 338th innings, thus becoming the fastest batter in the game’s history to achieve the landmark figure.

Shubman Gill fined after Gujarat Titans’ win over Capitals

Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill has been slapped with a fine by the BCCI for maintaining a slow over-rate against Delhi Capitals in match number 14 of the IPL 2026 season in Delhi on April 8. The official IPL website confirmed that the Titans failed to complete their allotted overs within the required time, leading to a Level 1 offense.

Since this was Titans’ first offense of IPL 2026 under Article 2.22 of the IPL code of conduct, the cricketer was fined Rs. 12 lakhs.

Brazil Women player Laura Cardoso takes record nine-fer

Brazil Women all-rounder Laura Cardoso picked up nine wickets in an innings against Lesotho at an expense of just four runs in match number 14 of the BCA Kalahari Women's T20 International Tournament in Gaborone. Her spell enveloped the entire Lesotho line-up for just 13, as Brazil scripted a huge 189-run win.

Laura Cardoso now holds the best bowling figures in the history of Women’s T20I cricket.

Shaheen Afridi’s Lahore Qalandars suffer one of worst PSL defeats

The Lahore Qalandars franchise, under the leadership of Shaheen Afridi, succumbed to a humiliating nine-wicket defeat against Islamabad United in match 16 of the PSL 2026 season in Karachi. Folding up for 100, the Qalandars picked up just one wicket in response as United blazed past their target in just 10.2 overs.

In terms of number of balls remaining, the outcome marked the fourth biggest defeat in the history of the PSL.
