Peshawar Zalmi are taking on Karachi Kings in the 17th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 at the the National Stadium in Karachi. After being invited to bat first, the Babar Azam-led Zalmi slammed a mammoth 246 for the loss of 3 wickets, leaving the home side shell-shocked.
Mohammad Haris fell on the second ball, but it was followed by a run-fest as Kusal Mendis and Babar Azam, who were involved in a record partnership for the 2nd wicket. The former made his first-ever hundred outside Sri Lanka while Babar Azam remained unbeaten on a 51-ball 87. Abdul Samad's blistering 12-ball 40* provided the perfect finish as the Zalmis ran up a massive total.

On Thursday, Babar Azam and Kusal Mendis set a new record for the highest partnership in the Pakistan Super League, amassing 191 runs for the 2nd wicket. This partnership broke the previous record of 176 runs established by Babar Azam and Sharjeel Khan in 2021.
246/3 - Highest Innings total by Peshawar Zalmi
Despite losing Mohammad Haris very early in the innings, Zalmi smashed a gigantic 246 for the loss of 3 wickets. This score surpasses their previous 242/6 to become the new highest innings total by the PSL franchise, Peshawar Zalmi.

The 246-run innings total by Peshawar Zalmi also becomes the highest score set against Karachi Kings in the tournament's history. The run-fest crossed the previous total of 234/3 set by Multan Sultans (now Sialkot Stallionz).
11.81 - 5th Fastest Partnership for Any Wicket in PSL by Run-Rate (150 runs & more)
The 191-run stand achieved by Babar Azam and Kusal Mendis for Peshawar Zalmi on Thursday becomes the fifth fastest partnership for any wicket in the Pakistan’s premier T20 league by run-rate (150 runs & more). The duo smashed 191 runs in 16.1 overs at an average run-rate of 11.81.

- The first instance in Pakistan Super League history where three openers across both innings were dismissed for ducks in the same match (Muhammad Waseem and David Warner for KRK; Mohammad Haris for PSZ).
- Kusal Mendis now holds the record for the fastest hundred for Peshawar Zalmi in PSL history, achieving the feat off just 48 balls against Karachi Kings in PSL 11 (2026). He is also the first Sri Lankan to score a PSL century, finishing with 109 off 52 balls in that innings.
- Adam Zampa conceded 51 runs in his 4-over spell without a wicket, which becomes his 4th most expensive spell in T20s.
