Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravi Bishnoi headline Rajasthan Royals dominance
Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal surpassed Delhi Capitals’ Sameer Rizvi to claim the coveted ‘Orange Cap’ of the IPL 2026 season. The left-handed batter plundered 77* runs off just 32 balls against the Mumbai Indians to extend his tally to 170 runs in three innings of the tournament at a prolific average of 170. His teammate, Ravi Bishnoi, on the other hand, extended his wickets collection to seven scalps at an average of 11.71 to retain the ‘Purple Cap’ of the season.
On the 10-team IPL 2026 points table, Rajasthan Royals surpassed Punjab Kings and RCB to jump to the top with three wins in three matches. Following their win over Mumbai Indians in Guwahati, the Royals franchise has accumulated six points so far.
Tamim Iqbal becomes BCB president
Aminul Islam Bulbul has been axed as the president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The development occurred mere days after six BCB directors resigned from their posts in a short span of time, and the decision to remove Aminul was made following the recommendations of a five-member investigation committee.

Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal will now helm the BCB, doing so at the age of just 37, until next board elections take place.
Ravi Shastri to receive grand tribute at Wankhede Stadium
Former India all-rounder and commentary icon Ravi Shastri will be inaugurated at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 9 this week. As per reports, Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis will attend the venue, and officially rename a stand after the cricketer-turned-commentator.
Apart from honoring the former India head coach, the MCA will also pay grand tributes to Diana Edulji and Dilip Sardesai.
Karachi Kings captain David Warner arrested in Australia amid PSL 2026
David Warner has been charged with drink driving in Sydney. Earlier, the legendary Australian opener returned back home during his week-long break from the PSL 2026 season. The cricketer has now been arrested after failing a breathalyzer test.
As of now, it remains to be seen if Warner’s arrest will impact his PSL 2026 availability for the Karachi Kings franchise.
Shubman Gill set for Gujarat Titans return after injury
Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill is set to make his return to the playing XI for his team’s upcoming IPL 2026 match against the Delhi Capitals. It is worth noting that the prolific top-order batter was forced to miss Titans’ previous match against the Rajasthan Royals owing to back spasms, prompting Rashid Khan to take over captaincy.
