The CSA has named South Africa’s complete squad for the upcoming T20I tri-series and ODI tour of Namibia. In other news, the ACB has unveiled the entire schedule of India’s upcoming three-match T20I series against ‘hosts’ Afghanistan in India.

South Africa name Bjorn Fortuin as captain for Namibia tour
Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced South Africa’s 15-player squad for the upcoming white-ball tour of Namibia. Naming an understrength squad in a bid to manage the workload of their seniormost players, the board appointed Bjorn Fortuin as new captain of the side.

Under the leadership of Fortuin, South Africa will compete in a T20I tri-series in Namibia, before taking on the hosts for a three-match ODI series.
Sri Lanka eying Niroshan Dickwella and Anjala Bandara for India series
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is considering two potential candidates as a replacement for senior wicketkeeper-batter Kusal Mendis for the upcoming two-match Test series against Team India at home. The board has narrowed down its search to experienced campaigner Niroshan Dickwella and uncapped star Anjala Bandara.
Earlier, Kusal Mendis was ruled out of the series owing to a hamstring injury he sustained during the LPL 2026 season.
Abishek Porel arrested under rape charges
Young Abishek Porel has been arrested in West Bengal’s Hooghly district over rape allegations. As per a complaint lodged by a dental student, the 23-year-old allegedly engaged in a sexual relationship under the false promise of marriage and subjected her to assault and criminal intimidation.
Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya of the Calcutta High Court had directed the police officials to continue efforts to trace and arrest the Delhi Capitals star.
India vs Afghanistan schedule revealed
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has confirmed the entire schedule of Afghanistan’s upcoming ‘home’ T20I series against Team India. Marking a rare event, Afghanistan’s entire home series will be hosted by India’s Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
The three T20I matches will be played between September 13 and September 17. Afghanistan has previously played their home matches in India by hosting Ireland and West Indies back in 2017 and 2019 respectively.
Moises Henriques to captain Portugal in T20 World Cup 2028 qualification bid
Moises Henriques is set to captain the Portugal cricket team in their bid of securing a qualification in the 2028 ICC T20 World Cup. The former Australian all-rounder has been included in Portugal squad for the upcoming qualifying tournament in Finland.
Henriques recently announced his retirement from domestic cricket in Australia, and he played four Tests, 16 ODIs and 24 T20I matches for his country during his playing days.
