In a major development, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has announced the India U19 squads for the upcoming home series against Australia U19 on August 27.
The tour will feature three One-Day matches and two Multi-Day fixtures.
It is important to mention that Aaryavir Sehwag, son of former India opener Virender Sehwag, and Anvay Dravid, son of former India captain and head coach Rahul Dravid, have been included in the India U19 squad.
Aaryavir Sehwag - Anvay Dravid Included In India U19 Squad vs Australia U19
Virender Sehwag's son, Aaryavir Sehwag, and Anvay Dravid, son of Rahul Dravid, have been named in India's U19 squad for the upcoming series against Australia.
It is vital to note that Aaryavir Sehwag has received his maiden India U19 call-up after being selected for the three One-Day matches in Rajkot in September. The right-handed batter last played in the Delhi Premier League 2026 for West Delhi Lions.
Virender Sehwag's son, Aaryavir, also showcased remarkable form for Delhi U19. He made 297 off 309 balls for Delhi U19 against Meghalaya in the Cooch Behar Trophy in 2024.
On the other hand, Anvay Dravid has retained his place in the One-Day squad after a strong performance for India U19 against Sri Lanka in July. The wicketkeeper-batter scored 87 runs off 67 balls in the 2nd Youth ODI.
During the tour, Anvay Dravid made 101 runs in 2 innings at an average of 50.50 and a strike rate of 117.44.
However, Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid have not been included in the squad for the two Multi-Day fixtures.
It is worth noting that Lakshya Raichandani will captain India in the three One-Day matches, with Yashbardhan Chauhan as his vice-captain. On the other side, for the Multi-Day matches, Chauhan will take charge, with Raichandani serving as his deputy.
India U19 vs Australia U19 Schedule
The India U19 vs Australia U19 One-Day series will begin on September 18 in Rajkot. The second match will be played on September 21, followed by the third on September 23.
Rajkot will also host the first Multi-Day match from September 27 to 30. The second Multi-Day fixture will be played at Ahmedabad’s B Ground from October 5 to 8.
