Veteran Indian cricketer Jaydev Unadkat is all set to return to England later this week to play for an English team. Unadkat, one of the greats in the domestic circuit, has featured in four Tests, eight ODIs and ten T20I matches for the Indian team.
Unadkat recently represented the Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2026. He managed only four wickets in as many games and would look to redeem himself in the upcoming competition, where he will play for a famed English team in the European nation.
Jaydev Unadkat To Play For Sussex in County Championship 2026
Jaydev Unadkat will travel to England later this week to continue his County Championship campaign with Sussex. The experienced left-arm fast bowler will once again represent the English county in the remainder of the red-ball season.
Sussex have enjoyed a competitive season so far under the leadership of Ollie Robinson. The team is currently placed fifth in the Division One standings after winning four matches, losing two, and drawing two from their eight games.
It is important to note that the County Championship is currently on a break due to the ongoing The Hundred and the One-Day Cup in England.
Once the red-ball competition resumes, Unadkat will rejoin the Sussex squad and begin his second spell with the side this season.

Jaydev Unadkat's first match after returning is expected to be against Warwickshire at Edgbaston in Birmingham on August 20.
The ace pacer has been part of the Sussex since 2023; however, he missed the opening rounds of this season because of his IPL 2026 commitments. He featured in two County Championship matches in June before returning to India.
Now, the left-arm pacer is ready to head back to England and help Sussex in their remaining six matches of the campaign.
Speaking about his return, Unadkat said that playing county cricket continues to be an important part of his preparation for the Indian domestic season.
“It’s back to county cricket. I’ve been representing Sussex for the last four seasons and it will be good preparation for the Indian domestic season,” Unadkat told Cricbuzz.

Unadkat has built an impressive record during his time with Sussex. In 13 County Championship matches, he took 57 wickets at an average of 17.75 and a strike rate of 38.2.
