Shabnim Ismail to reverse her retirement

Shabnim Ismail is on track to reverse her retirement and make a return to the South Africa Women national side. The legendary fast bowler bowed out of the game back in mid-2023.

However, at the behest of South Africa coach Mandla Mashimbyi and CA director of cricket Enoch Nkwe, the speedster will be selected in the Proteas squad for the upcoming 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England.

Shaheen Afridi completes 400 wickets

Shaheen Afridi picked up four wickets across both innings of the series-opener against Bangladesh in Mirpur. During the process, the legendary fast bowler completed 400 international wickets, becoming the ninth Pakistan cricketer to do so.

Notably, Shaheen is the only Pakistani bowler in history to have claimed at least 100 or more wickets in each of the three playing formats. Aged 26, the senior pro is primed to add a few more landmark moments in his career.

Mominul Haque completes 5,000 Test runs

Mominul Haque registered his second fifty of the match, and the 27th of his career through the course of his 56-run knock in the second innings of the Mirpur Test against Pakistan. With his latest effort, Mominul completed 5,000 runs in his Test career, thus becoming only the third Bangladesh cricketer after Mushfiqur Rahim and Tamim Iqbal to scale the landmark figure.

He is currently sitting on a pile of 5,006 runs from 141 innings at an average of 38.21.

Australia name squads for Pakistan, Bangladesh tours

Cricket Australia (CA) has named Australia’s squads for the upcoming white-ball tours of Pakistan and Bangladesh. Mitchell Marsh will continue to lead the side in both trips, but legendary pacemen Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc have not been included in the squads.

Australia is scheduled to face Pakistan in a three-match ODI series before flying to Bangladesh for a short ODI and a T20I series.
