While the cricketing glory days are over for the South African pace veteran Morne Morkel, the terror is still there. The towering bowling figure is currently the Indian cricket team's bowling coach, and he has now taken up a new challenge besides his cricketing stint.
Morne Morkel is all set to appear on a very popular Indian reality show named Khatron Ke Khiladi, where participants are usually given dangerous and risky tasks to complete. Many celebrities and star figures participate in the show; however, as per sources, Morkel will not be a participant and will be one of the special guest appearances.
Morne Morkel set to make debut appearance on Indian reality show
Khatron Ke Khiladi is an Indian reality show that is mainly consumed on television; however, recent streaming and OTT applications also broadcast the show. The reality show is mainly aired by Colors TV on television, and viewers interested in watching it on OTT can visit JioHotstar for the episodes.
The new season of the show will be aired first on August 1, with new episodes set to go live every Saturday and Sunday from 9 PM IST.
The show, which involves risky stunts, tubs full of creepers and reptiles, and requires the competitors to indulge in them, will now have Morne Morkel as one of the stunts.

What will Morne Morkel do on Khatron Ke Khiladi?
In a solid twist, Morkel won't be coming in as a performer or a participant on the set but will come as the 'Khatra' (danger) himself. As introduced by the show's director and host, Rohit Shetty, Morkel bowls at 150 kmph, and the participants in the show will have to face him upfront while he bowls at his full strength.
As Morkel takes his stance to bowl on a cricket pitch, the participants will face him, but not with the traditional bat, but rather with their own bodies. As per the rules of the stunt, the stunt performer will be wearing safety gear like a helmet, padded gloves, a body suit and knee pads, and stand guard in front of the batting end.
Morkel, not a participant on KKK, but a threat
The performers would have to guard a wall behind them, which Morkel would try to penetrate with his bowling. There will also be stumps placed. If the performer manages to stay not out and also secure the wall as much as possible, he will be declared the winner.
While the elaborate rules of the round are yet to be detailed as intended by the showmakers, visual representations portray Morne Morkel as a guest from South Africa who will be bringing the threat to the participants with his furious bowling performances.
As Morkel will appear on the show on August 1, it is understood that the current Indian bowling coach will be aired on the show before the Sri Lanka tour of the team. However, it will not be hampering the cricket faculty since, the episode has been pre-recorded and Morkel is likely relieved of his Khatron Ke Khiladi duties ahead of the month of August only.
For the unaware, Morkel has been a legend of the Proteas team, who has 309 Test wickets, 188 ODI wickets and 47 T20I scalps under his name before he retired in April 2018 from all forms of cricket.
