GT Vs RCB: What the captains had to say
Shubman Gill: (On the toss) "We will bowl first. The surface does look a little dry and patchy. At times, the first four or five overs can give us a bit of swing in the first innings, and just in case there’s any dew later, we always like to chase.
(On the importance of this match with respect to the points table) Yes, we’ve got the next two games, including this one, at home. I think these two games are going to determine where we stand and how far we go in the tournament. The boys are ready to go.
(On facing RCB and past close contests) Yeah, definitely. They’re the defending champions and have been playing some really good cricket. So hopefully, it’s going to be one heck of a game.
Rajat Patidar: "[On whether he fielded first?] Obviously, we were looking to field first. I think in IPL, there are good wickets to bat on but this has a grass cover on it. I think it will be good to bat on. We will try to put a good total on the board and put them under pressure.
[On the team performance] The way we played first half, it was good to see. Every player stood up and delivered for the team.
