Vinod Kambli, Sachin Tendulkar's childhood friend and once his Indian cricket team mate, made his first public appearance on Wednesday night after rumours of a fatal brain stroke clouded the internet a few weeks ago.

Vinod Kambli was seen leaving the Wankhede Stadium after the Mumbai Indians vs Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL 2026 clash. As he went to watch the match, he was seen exiting the stadium accompanied by two people as he struggled to walk on his own.

The Recent Health Scare Of Kambli

For the unaware, recently, Vinod Kambli's very close friend Marcus Couto claimed that the ex-India cricketer's memory has been affected due to a brain clot, and he now risks a brain stroke.

This brain clot was caused in a hospitalisation over a year ago, which has now consequently led the cricketer to forget things and remember them only in fragments.

In a worrisome update, although Kambli has given up his drinking habit, which was the main cause of his deteriorating health since 2012, he is still continuing to smoke at times, although it is totally forbidden by doctors.

Nevertheless, Kambli's appearance in the MI vs SRH clash was an air of relief for his fans who were concerned about his health risk.

Vinod Kambli Feebly Walks Out Of Wankhede Stadium

In a video released by a Bollywood paparazzi Instagram page, Voompla, Kambli was seen walking out of the stadium accompanied by two companions and a police officer.

He was walking very slowly and limping as he made his way out, and also responded to a fan who wished him a speedy recovery, to which he reacted with a thumbs-up and a soft thank you.

Sporting a very casual look of a white half-sleeved shirt and beige-coloured trousers, Kambli was seen enjoying the limelight outside the Wankhede Stadium.

Kambli’s Wife Explains His Health Rumours

Although the internet and cricket fraternity have been worried about Vinod Kambli's health, Kambli's wife Andrea Hewitt has dismissed concerns regarding the 54-year-old's condition.

In a conversation with India Today, Hewitt said, "By God's grace, Vinod is fine. I don't know who is spreading false information about his health." Hewitt indicated the brain stroke risk that Marcus Couto had suggested.

Sachin And Kambli’s Relationship And Recent Bond

Nevertheless, the batting prodigy, who was once a sure promise but couldn't convert his glory days, played 17 Tests and 104 ODIs after debuting in 1991. Meanwhile, his close friend Sachin Tendulkar went on to become one of the greatest icons of the cricketing world.

Speaking of Sachin Tendulkar, the "God of Cricket" also extended his support towards Kambli by helping fund his hospitalisation during a tough treatment for a urinary infection at a Mumbai hospital.

Although Vinod Kambli recovered well from the treatment soon after, he fell sick again before making his public appearance on the April 29 match.
